I've never been interested in either One Piece or JoJo's Bizarre Adventure either. I can't get past One Piece's art style, it's too ugly to me. And the character designs in Jojo's Bizarre Adventure are just too weird. I loved watching this though!
Is Macross 7 a band anime? Sorta! Basara is the lead vocalist of Fire Bomber, a rock band and mecha squadron on the titular colony ship Macross 7. Fire Bomber was kind of a big deal back in my day and they released several albums. You made the right call on Basara though. He's a stupid jerkface. Sorry! I just love Macross!
