I was in the breakfast club and they signed my shirt backstage when I was about 9 this was amazing I'm 31 now and have a 7month daughter and one on the way. God Is love
I remember seeing them back in 1992 with my then girlfriend(now wife for the past 28 years) opening for Petra. We fell in love with them and still love their music.

This is the song that got me hooked on the Newsboys, Peter Furler and Steve Taylor became my favorite lyrists. Great and clever lyrics. Great message. I want this played at my funeral.

We are to be loving because that is what helps us forgive. Love corrects but it also gives understanding when people wrong us.

I love this song. My dad had weird pajamas and he loved breakfast. It makes me think of him. I'll see him again!

Michael Tait?
This was 2002, so Michael was in his own band called "Tait" at this point. He would replace Peter Furler and become lead singer seven years later.

They were both probably on their solo tours during this time. Ironically enough, Michael did make a guest appearance in this concert anyway, but on another song ("The Fad Of The Land").

what does this have to do with God
This song is basically a Steve Taylor-esque way of saying that you need to get in line with God, because in hell, the temporal things you enjoyed on earth, like "breakfast", won't matter much if you end up there for eternity. As you may have already figured out, it's not intended to be a theological "thee-thou-thine-shalt-eth" hymn, mainly because it was written by Steve Taylor (as mentioned earlier). You probably don't know who that is, so I'll help you out: Steve was well known as a Christian artist back in the 80s/90s whose songs contained lyrics that seemed goofy, but were incredibly deep once you understood the meaning behind them. If you check out other Newsboys' songs from back in the 90s, like "Shine" or "Take Me To Your Leader", you'll notice they have the same structure as this one. Same writer, strange lyrics, but deep Christian messages overall.
