    I always find it amazing how quickly Japan's areas go from urban to rural to a mix. It almost feels like nature and humanity blends better here.

      @JMarieCAlove 4 года назад +3

      SonicArtemis117 I agree too, but I think when you walk around any city, you’ll be surprised what you’ll find. He does a lot of walking in his video’s so knows what to show us from a noisy city to the quietness of a park with a lake or a creek going through it. I live in central California and around my city, there’s a lot of beautiful parks, a river runs through my whole city, walking paths that leads to the main streets to a lake, further outside of here, are a lot of farms and fields and lots of Almond orchards, I love that there’s still old fruit stands outside of town, my grandparents use to buy bags of all kinds of fruits and vegetables and us grandkids would be waiting and waiting... and waiting in the car because they were talking in Spanish, we’re related somehow, their kids went to school with my dad, but my grandparents always gave us one of the bags of fruit ( it was all clean), fun memories! I would love to walk through Japan and other states (ok, not all over the state! lol)... and someday Europe! 😁

    I got very nostalgic and homesick during the first riverwalk. Even though it was japan, the sights and sounds could have easily been the same sort of riverwalk I remember from my youth here in America, in my small town of NY where I was from. There was a big river bisecting the town, and that familiar worn trail in the grass, the baseball field, and its noises, the grass, the river sounds itself(Let alone the kids going by on bikes, that was us as kids for sure) just made it all seem like home.
    Have not thought about those summer walks by the river in years. Thanks, truly, for the unintended memories.

    Reminiscing...
    I lived in Tama City and Seiseki in '92--'93 while teaching at Mike's English School. I was the classic bad American. Arrogant, haughty, full of myself. I regret so much. And yet, I had a wonderful experience. Met so many generous and talented people. Japan and those people started me on a path to becoming a better human being. If this message were to somehow make it to a gentleman named Ed Weinzeirl (not sure of the spelling), I'd like to thank him and apologize for our time together there. We used to go to a local Ma-n-Pa bar down the street from the school. They made a dish called Niku-Dofu--I think (best soup I've ever eaten)--and we'd sing karaoke together. We did a version of 'Summertime,' where one of us would sing along with the subtitles, and the other one would improvise. Moments in life...

    Every time I watch these videos, my heart gets warm. I was set to go to Japan this year before the pandemic hit and unfortunately, I'll have to wait till (hopefully) next year.
    One of my friends finds the architecture of Japan pretty bland and boring. He's more into cities like Vegas and Dubai that have very "in your face" architecture. While, that can be amusing, I'll take "bland ole" Japan anytime. I do agree that some of the architecture can be bland and simple, but it doesn't bother me. Japan builds much more on practicalities, functionality then aesthetics but at the same time, those simple aesthetics is what makes Japan uniquely Japan. And I love it for that. And truthfully, if you know where to look, you'll find some really fun and groovy architecture/buildings around the cities of Japan. Lots of hidden gems. I can't wait to go back, I really can't!

    At 1:12:28 you show us your beautiful Lumix GH5, she is our astonished eyes walking of your hand in through this singular country unique in the world not only for its geographical position but also for its ideosyncracy and its aesthetic concept, this beautiful neighborhood is a finished sample of it, in this neighborhood especially those stairways are its hallmark, accommodating the rugged terrain for the passer-by walks... and if it is true, the one who comments in amazement at how quickly one goes from the very urban to the very suburban, it is another distinctive feature !!
    Thank you very much dear Rambalac for another walk that joy our hearts, still in quarantine.
    And also thank you very much for the detailed guide!!
    Cordial and grateful greetings from distant Argentina :-)

    It's a joy to see how good Japan is with tactile paths (the yellow paths). Planning to visit in a wheelchair and as long as you keep to the big cities it seems really accessible aside from all the stairs/steps.

    I went here last October right after the typhoon. It was very calm and beautiful. The Tama river was raging with water from the storm.

    Aloha! My wife's family lives in Tama and some of the places you walked were very familiar such as the shopping area at the beginning. Our airport bus would drop us off there and we would depart from there on the airport bus as well. You even walked right in my in-laws neighborhood and we could see the house! We walked in some of the very same paths you did!

    I've been wanting to go to Japan for a long time now but I don't think I can anytime soon, it might take a couple of years for me to save up some money after I graduate so maybe around 10 years from now. But I got to experience and see how walking around a part of today's Japan feels like through this video and other videos as well. Now I feel even more motivated to study well and land myself on a good paying job. Wonderful video :))

    Those hill views were lovely! Nice place to live with those kind of views!
    1:28:53 What a strange setup. Being shallow planters they'd have to spend a lot of time keeping those watered.
