hi i found some old cine film footage from 1978 amongst my mums belongings filmed in malta if anyone is interested.Have a great day.Sonia ruclips.net/video/eqS9GYyx-oo/видео.html
So peaceful, easy going, safe....hard to believe the unimaginable horror, mayhem, bloodshed and injustices happening just across the Med to the South! I salute the gentle people of Malta!
Good to have found you. Lovely immersive tour and smooth camera work. Thanks for your viewpoint, especially as we've jnot long ago filmed the same ourselves. Look forward to seeing more from you.
We have stayed in the crown hotel, topaz hotel,Santana hotel & soreda hotel.Loved every one of them.We also stayed in the sea view hotel which has now been pulled down.We have also stayed in sleima twice.xxx
Half Protestant (Dad) half Catholic ( Mum had me baptised Sliema in '69), but my urned cremations will get dropped from a dhajsa in the middle of the Grand Harbour near where they met. Malta and Gozo are amazing in the winter months. Green and mild.
@@Kelly14UK Except you cant drop cremations in a public civilised area. Your dead body's ashes are a bio hazard. If you really want a sea burial it would be some miles out of port.
@@toasty6570 Anticipated that. But when no one is looking, and i'm dead, and my family are clever enough to do as i instruct, and pay the dhajsa owner a big back hander, who cares when no one is looking? Whoops, Madonna, we just dropped something by accident into the water. Ah well, back to shore... hehe
Saw this for the first time nice video and saw my husbands uncle and auntie in the balcony in Valletta sadly they have both passed away since this video
I'm sorry to hear that. That shot was one of my favourites, so calm and peaceful in the afternoon tourist rush, just talking to each other, I thought this is something I would like for my own old age.
a Month on Malta. just to be there. with no agenda or '' have to's '' , take a day, see a part of the island, take a day, do nothing but watch people pass by a cafe, 28 more to go, I could do a Month on Malta. easy. Thanks for putting something good on the wwweb!
Yup. Take Maltese bread ( vastly superior to Italian ), then rub it in olive oil. Put tomato puree on this. Tuna, chopped or sliced olives, capers ( if you are okay with them), and over the top maybe mixed herbs, or basil or oregano. Three or four are good for lunch and if you go swimming, you HAVE to have them with you.
Vastly superior to Italian according to what? Also, do you have any idea about how many types of bread are there in Italy? It's a country with a very important and diverse culinary tradition. Please, don't compare the uncomparable.
@@mattiamele3015 Okay, point conceded. Just that the Maltese bread i was brought up with always seemed better than the Italian i tried. Side issue, the north Italians have this amazing biscuit commonly known as "ladyfingers", and i can eat them dunked in black coffee. Not too much sugar and a wee bit addictive.
@@Kelly14UK I would also concede that the ftajjar I bought from a bakery in Ħaż-Żebbuġ were hands off superior to any bread I can get in my village in Italy. The problem is many of them, at least around here, use electric ovens nowadays. I will look up those ladyfingers, they sound like something of my taste.
@@mattiamele3015 They sell them en masse inexpensive in Scotland. They are really for a layering in cakes, but i just eat them like any given cookie as i love the white powdered sugar toppings, and crisp crunchy bite. Think they are egg/ flour based and quite filling like a pack of 6 Scottish oatcakes. Some Maltese breadcrusts i found thick and hard on my teeth if not cut slim enough along with the bread. There's a lot of holes in Maltese bread with a waxy texture, and the bread isn't obnoxious with salt. So good, you can butter the crusts.
Ahhh, ok. Did not know you are a tourist. In that case..fine job!! and you are right about filming the Vella family about Comino. :) Thank you again for the video!!!
Most of this is just "leftover" footage from the travel video, but I liked it, especially the Birgufest and Xghajra bits, so I did this... but I'd love to be there for more! We miss Malta!
As RUclips didn't let me have the original songs, because they are copyrighted, I simply chose one from RUclips's free tracks after upload... It's called Of All The Moments (Public Symphony)
I went to Malta just after Christmas for a week and my fist experience was the taxi bus people who were to take me to my hotel, i found them to be extremely rude and surly, i got to the hotel gave the proper paperwork to the receptionist she threw it back at me only to realize it was the proper paper and then snapped it back, and the public bus drivers was the same, you know any old dog can bark at his own back door.I know what hard work is and i would like to think could show people a bit more manners than i received in Malta
I'm sorry. We also had bad experiences, especially in places where they have many tourists. Rude people, extreme prices, lack of helpfulness etc. But as we are also lucky to have friends and having had a place in a less "touristic" village, we have experienced the friendly side of the Maltese as well. Believe me they can be the nicest people ;)
i i am a young oriental man from the UK going to visit Malta in may 2014 for a week holiday alone, is there lots of oriental tourists in Malta? is the culture in Malta diverse like in the UK? the big question is that will i be "culturely" (if thats even a word) accepted over there?
If you want a one-word answer then yes. They have a mixed blood, culture, language with a lot of influence from their lords or later colonizers. But if by that you mean they are only italians, arabs or whoever living together (or next to each other) on an island and there is no such thing as "native maltese" then no.
I'd love to, but I'm only a tourist... we have a place in the east of Malta to return to, but Gozo is too far to spend days to shoot. About Comino: makes only sense if you film the Vella family ;)
im maltese and its safe to say that that discendence youre talkin about has been eniolated by those stupid otomans in the past still some might still exist hell i myself could be one but we'll never know ;p
+otto second maybe but the islands were repopulated a bunch of times because of those stupid ottomans that saught to destroy ous fortunately we defeated them when they wanted to finish ous :)
