@@Jim-p4d there are certain situations where the defense will be in an automatic setting as an example if it is a obvious passing down second and 10 or longer, third and five or longer, then the defense is an automatically looking for the pass. Also, if it’s fourth and one Or they are down by the goal line, you know that they will automatically be looking for the run. In any other neutral, defensive situation, I use the fletch 67 defensive chart. It takes into account, the strength of the defense and the stronger, the defense, the better the odds that they will be in the correct defense also, the worst defense is the more likely they are not in the correct defense. So I only really need to roll for the defense in a neutral defensive down setting. Now each offense is allowed one audible per quarter. So I do a dice roll and if I roll a one the offense can call an audible against the defense. Oguard62’s website has a very good explanation on how to play the game in a solitaire fashion.
