During the making (of Chandralekha), our studio looked like a small kingdom ... horses, elephants, lions, tigers in one corner, palaces here and there, over there a German lady training nearly a hundred dancers on one studio floor, a shapely Sinhalese lady teaching another group of dancers on real marble steps adjoining a palace, a studio worker making weapons, another making period furniture using expensive rosewood, set props, headgear, and costumes, Ranjan undergoing fencing practice with our fight composer 'Stunt Somu', our music directors composing and rehearsing songs in a building ... there were so many activities going on simultaneously round the clock.

Atleast one comment i saw that it's the old version of the TROY film. And also for the camera techniques. In this film there are a lot of new and creative techniques are made (for ex in the circus scene :
The old cameras are not having the zoom in & out features, although they capture the distance shot by moving the camera using a rope in that circus scene. )
Hats off to the old geniuses.

It took so long(5 years) for the production mainly because of world war 2, which I guess you both know had cost India dearly(remember shashi tharoor's speech in Oxford University). It was the time of scarcity of everything, yet the production studio, Gemini Studio, invested heavily on it. It then turned out to be an iconic piece in Indian cinema, if not world cinema, during that time.

A copy of this film is in Congressional library of USA. It is Classic of all time. It was released in 1948 less tqn a year after independence of India when it was undergoing a diabolic partition of India by the British. Billy Wood has never reached such a height not by Sanjay Bansali or Bahubali.
He had hired an entire 3 ringed circus for the movie.
Cecile B. Devilled Pale shadow before him. He is and was the Greatest showman on earth not Barnunum and Bailey. This just the get you understand what India particularly Tamil Nadu is capable of.

You guys have to react to more old songs in Tamil... I am not degrading the current filmmaking but the effort they took in each and every aspects in those days is jawdropping. With very less technology, they provided vishual treat which need immense effort... My suggestions are
Kannum kannum kalanthu song from vanchi kotai valiban
    Manam padaithaen from kandan karunai
    Mannavan vanthanadi from Thiruvarutselvar

Previous generations of film makers have inspired the current generation and the future ones will also get inspired accordingly. That is how knowledge flows. If everything becomes cheating or stealing then only the first filmmaker should have had the right to make films. Everyone else STOLE the idea of film making.
