I've been looking all over the internet to find something like this, and as far as I know, you guys are the only ones that have this paint specifically for models and not RC cars or otherwise. I'm ordering a set asap.
Auto paint is using strong and toxic mediums, look out! We have adjusted our paints for the standard hobbyist in his home. Our are not toxic and acrylic.
It's certainly beautiful and works as advertised. As VikingFyre says, it's of limited use for fantasy (though I am imagining more and more possibilities...), I'm going to have to pick up both sets and think of creative ways to use them. I'm really impressed! If I were into car models, I'd be wet right now!
While I’m excited for this, I can’t imagine using it often for fantasy models, with the exception of magical effects and terrain. I can see it being great for Sci-fi models and even some steampunk stuff. I’ll definitely invest in a set
Late comment, but haven't been able to get this question answered: I had read a black gloss undercoat is best. Would applying a gloss varnish, such as citadels 'ardcoat, over a matte black primer work? I am worried that the varnish will not allow the paint to stick properly.
The paint can go straight on plastic, you don't have to paint everything jett black, you can use a brush but the paint becomes sticky after a while, plus you need more then one coat, they all offer basically the same thing, Martian Green is red until the light hits it then you get the green very odd paint. I use this on my 40k as I hate following what everyone else is painting that always ends up looking the same, my money my model my way lol
Black gloss is better if you have it, if not just use normal black and after finishing with chameleon apply a gloss varnish. After gloss varnish on the chameleon, keep painting normal with washes and highlights.

Is there a guide to which colours have transparent liquid and which ones show up on white?
Certainly bringing something new to the miniature painting hobby. I hadn't heard of this kind of iridescence outside of auto body paint.

how did you prep the black spoons? did you just paint black or did you add a gloss varnish after? if so what gloss varnish?
Will the paint stick to any plastic (ABS)? Is a primer required? Will it run off?
You covered white and black, I generally use great because that's the colour primer I have? Would this be a halfway house between the to for effects?
Late response but don't use this paint over Grey primer. It really only gets the color change effect over a black base

Varnish will increase the effect when beneath but it will not affect the paint to stick properly.
What does a metallic undercoat do to the paint? Say a dark to medium silver.
this is working as mirrors, u need dark background. If you use dark metallic it will also work
Underpainting would cause the chameleon effect not to show the necessary quality, by adding another layer of paint on top.
Would a gloss black regular type spray paint be a good base, or will the paint react with it?
As a base, our glossy black primer is the best. The paint shows all its color with it.
what pressure do you use for a better result? I have tried different ones and the paint tends to dry inside the airbrush after a short time
The normal pressure you use to paint. A couple of pounds would be enough.
What if turquoise basecoat sir?
Chameleon paint but the logo is an iguana wew

So we can finally paint the long forgotten Rainbow Marines now?
WOW
How would I shade these paints ?
Does it have to be airbrushed?
Handbrushed or airbushed, both options are good.
Does it matter if the black s gloss or matte?

that music is awful! it's horror to watch slow painting to bad music :P
