It’s July 2022 and I found this very helpful and persuasive. In the spring I moved into a new home with a small backyard, and decided I wanted to try my hand at growing some veggies. By the time we settled in enough for me to start gardening, my understanding was that it was too late in my region to start things from seed, so I grabbed whatever plants that the garden center had in stock that interested me. (I wound up with cherry tomatoes, pickling cucumbers, cantaloupe, yellow squash, and a blueberry plant) I really loved the convenience of having the plants already started for me since it was so late in our growing season, and they have all done pretty well, except the blueberry plant (I had to learn about each plant’s soil needs, growth patterns & pruning methods AFTER I got them, so a few adjustments had to be made along the way- the blueberry bush hasn’t been as forgiving as all the others LOL!). You’ve made some compelling points here, though, so I do plan to shop for seeds and hope to be ready to plant on time next Spring! Thanks for sharing your perspective so clearly!💐💐💐
