This is great content. I very much appreciate your attention to detail, sharing the specifics but equally how you have the ‘let’s give it a go’ attitude.
First attempt at polishing the inlet looked great. The problem is to do the rest, which will take long. Let's compare the finished article with before, part done and after. My Avensis Valvematic has an alloy valve cover that is hidden by a plastic engine cover. It would better polished. Painting the cam cover is a good idea. Great content as always.
I like your style of presenting. Just subscribed. I might get my inlet manifold polished up too. I've had my 225 TT four years now and have already done a lot of the mods you're doing (like catch can, N249 delete, Badger 5 TIP, Wak Box, etc). It's good to see things done with a different perspective and your easy going manner and have a go attitude is good to watch.
All looking good mate. Your polishing was fine. I'd save the £80 in future! The jury is still out on the red rocker cover. See what it's like when it's on.
For what it’s worth Paul, I thought you made a really good job of the polishing of the manifold. I thought the caustic soda in oven cleaner attacked Aluminium, perhaps the one you used doesn’t contain it. As for oven cleaner getting rid of carbon, my wife calls it roast chicken. Another laidback pace vblog, fantastic effort.
Might just be me. The belt you put on looked like it was around the A/C compressor pulley so the back of the belt was on the pulley rather than the grooved side?
Hi Paul, what capacity (make/model?) is your ultrasonic cleaner? What else other than injectors have you used it to clean? Looks very useful and something I may get in the future. Thanks!
Paul you did a good job, just maybe should have gone a little deeper with the rough sand to get the bigger imperfections out, should of redone yourself! You had it! Great video
Yeh was going to say the same. It's really important before you go to the smoother sandpaper to check over the work and see if there are any big scratches left as you will be there forever trying to get the scratches out with the smoother stuff. I know from experience lol
the polishing you did was fine, would have left it at that, at least it is all your own work. But the wrinkle paint...........will it not attract dirt???
Wait until the wife's out then pop it through the dishwasher...brings bike engine cases up a treat. Just don't get caught...that hurts. Your car but I don't think I'd have gone red, for well under 80 quid mate you'd get a good bench grinder and polishing kit cos your effort on the intake was nice. You'd do a good job with proper mops on a grinder, it's not too difficult.

I wouldn’t take it to a professional polisher mate, the job you done was spot on for me, looked great 👍
Great work all round,, you done a great job with the polish etc,, you do not need it done by a pro,
Loving it. The end result is going to look and be brilliant.

That came up a treat. Nice bit of polishing.
Good Work managed to get quite a bit done. Good episode

Great progress Paul, I hope one day I have the space for a TT project like yours
Another good one Paul something very satisfying about cleaning up parts and making them better than original... Loving the progress keep em coming 👍🏻
Thanks 👍
Really good content Paul, kept me engrossed for the entire episode and was disappointed when it finished. Can't wait for the next one!
Looks good man
Awesome job on the polishing, was good enough to go back on in my opinion.Gonna look very tidy under the bonnet when it’s all done 👌
nice work paul
Thank you kindly
Good work Paul, loving this BAM resto! 😀
👍 for the longer vlog.
Good results from all you did this episode Paul, well done. Liking the short intro and straight into work. 👍🏽😎
Thanks Gavin
Great video Paul thanks for the content
Good job Paul 👍
looks good Paul ❤
You have done a great job, you have made me want to buy a Audi TT.
Hi Paul Do you have a Link for the U/cleaner👍
Awesome as always 👍🏼😎
Thank you! Cheers!
Awesome channel!
Good video but I would take the opportunity to replace the O rings on the injectors
Yeah wouldn't the cleaner loosen the rubbers on them
Good work Paul...Enjoying your tt content....
Thanks 👍
Looks like you fitted the serpentine belt inside out, as belt ridges on outside instead of inside
No the belt is grooved both sides
@@martinjones849 something I haven't seen before , I've fitted many dayco serpentine belts and have never seen one grooved on both sides
@@johncullina6110 yeah VAG group & Porsche use them
As everyone stated, its grooved on both sides

Take the inlet pipe off and de baffle it (at the wide end) help the breathing, then strip grey paint and polish it, they are stainless 👍🏻
good job mate .............
Are you changing cam belt & tensioner?
Definately at this stage to at least thoroughly inspect the timing belt, tensioner and waterpump if not replace as a matter of course.
Both have been done already
Where and how did you relocate the n249 and how easy is it to do?
I bolted mine to the firewall out of the way still connected to the original cable.
What a great car that’s going to be for someone when you ultimately come to sell it!
Sell it? Never! Well maybe 😀
What type of driver is it your using pls
What wax did you use to polish and would it oxide in the future
It came in a kit from Machine mart
Might just be me. The belt you put on looked like it was around the A/C compressor pulley so the back of the belt was on the pulley rather than the grooved side?
I think its correct but I will confirm

Its from Amazon and its called a digital pro. its a 2 ltr model with a heater
@@CarsForPaul Excellent! Thanks Paul, much appreciated.

The Cambelt needs replacing as well, you can see its worn
The Cambelt has actually been done along with the water pump
@@CarsForPaul I’m surprised you didn’t show us you doing it Paul
Put new Campbelt and water pump on
Already done

Only time will tell about the dirt
I'd pay the 80 quid!
Looks spanking that Paul! Slap it
In motor!!
