If we consider him a star, and I do out of sheer team bias, Mikal Bridges is quietly in a prime position. He’s allowed to work his game with virtually no pressure because nobody expects the Nets to contend, and he’s loved in Brooklyn already, so I think he could very well continue his offensive breakout into next season.

100% agree with your take on OKC. They already made the play-in WITHOUT Holmgren. If you told me they win 50+ games this year, I wouldn't be surprised. They have a potential to be a top 5 defense. Plus, with all their draft capital they have the ability to address almost any weakness before the trade deadline. I think they badly need more shooting. But there are always shooters out there available for the right picks.

Russell Westbrook's $7.8M contract is still disgustingly low. I guess if they're really expecting James Harden to sign with them, they'll have to cut costs somewhere to fit him in with the new CBA which would explain Russ' financial reduction if it comes to fruition, but Dillion Brooks is literally getting paid 10x's the amount Russ is.

The main reason why russ had such a target on his back on the lakers was due to his contract. We've seen how much that pressure and criticism affected his mental, his family's life, his professional life. I think he signed that 7 mil contract intentionally to take that target off his back again, and get back to just playing ball. I think he knows he's already had the supermax, something 90% of nba players would never touch, so he's satisfied. Imo it's still way too low but as long as in his eyes this is what works for him and his family, that's all that matters.

OKC has a ton going for them but I’m not as high on their future as everyone else seems to be. They have the talent, the assets and brilliant management. The one thing they don’t have that no one talks about, is ownership that’s proven they’re committed to winning. This is the same franchise that had prime Kd, Russ, Harden and Ibaka. They slowly withered away because they were unwilling to operate in the luxury tax. They traded James away for a roll of bubble wrap. After choosing Ibaka over James and paying him they ended up trading him for Oladipo. That move was probably the final straw that lost them Kd. I just wonder if and when these young guys start getting to the point where they demand those big extensions and they maybe trade for a star and they require a deal, will they be prepared to go all in?

The Lakers are following the time old path of everyone overrating them because they made some small moves. Lebron and AD are a year older and it's unlikely they both have another somewhat healthy season. They played a weak 2 seed that they matched up well against in Memphis, and the Warriors were also not that great. Also a favorable matchup for the Lakers. A sweep is a sweep, and the Lakers got swept, there is no way around it. The Nuggets pulled ahead when it matters and let the Lakers take all the moral victories they wanted. Good video otherwise

Yo, why do you (and others) consider Dame a "mega superstar"? What has he accomplished? He's been a part of multiple 50-win teams and his closest run to the Finals was a sweep to the Durant-less Warriors in the WCF. He's over a decade into his career with no MVPs, no scoring titles, not a big assist or steal guy, never been a premiere defender. I know he's had some amazing games and has made some unbelievable shots but he's also been lackluster in big playoff moments. I mean, his 3-seed Blazers were swept by the Pelicans in 17-18. He averaged 19 points in that series. I know he's nice, but it often feels like he's graded on a curve. Is anybody else we consider a superstar so unaccomplished after this many years? Luka's 5 years in with 4 1st Team All-NBA selections and a better showing in his WCF appearance. Dame was 1st Team once five years ago. Kyrie was a major contributor on a championship team. Harden and Russ at least have MVPs and assists and scoring titles. CP was a premiere defender in his prime plus he's led the league in steals and assists multiple times. Tatum even has more 1st Team All-NBA selections and a Finals appearance. Embiid has an MVP and scoring titles. Jimmy can hang his hat on the Finals' runs. I'm not saying Dame has to have all of these things. But damn...none of it? after 11 seasons? Perhaps he's a mega superstar in the sense that Vince Carter was a mega superstar. Undeniably popular but not as accomplished as his contemporaries.

I’m not saying defense dosnt win you chips but a lot of other lucky factors come into play when a team wins a chip. If cp3, Ayton didn’t got hurt and booker didn’t tweak his ankle on game 5 it would had been a different outcome.
