WOW!!!! Your friend just made do with whatever space he had and made it his shop however he could. How does he cope with the wind, rain, dirt, etc.? Either way I'm impressed because it didn't prevent him from indulging his passion. It inspires me and I'm sure others too to not let a lack of space get in your way.
Thanks, My Grandfather, Eddie Ryan, remember the photo very well, of all of them in the front of the shop, used to hang in the office if that be the same photo. Wonder what ever happen to "Old Dynamite"
BigGhd it means the entire wheel, rim, spokes, and HUB were Cad plated. This was done by requesting it in the special instructions area of the order form, IE written in and Harley did it for you.
BigGhd Cadmium or "cad" for short was/is a type of plating/finishing process similar in function as that of chromium or "chrome" for short, parkerizing and even, some could argue, paint. It's primary duty is the preservation of the metal and it's secondary duty is for aesthetic value, though one could argue it the other way around. I'm not at all familiar with the actual manufacturing processes of cadmium, for that I'd consult with Todd. But I hope this helped.
Thanks for sharing that great history!
Awesome Brother, thanks for posting, it is amazing some of the jewels that are uncovered from time to time.
Very cool Todd thanks for sharing
