    This is why "cancel culture" is such a paradox. People had their lives ruined over less serious things, but actual child predators (especially if they're a docile white woman) seem to get away with direct harm. I worry that shes gonna learn nothing from this and groom a new generation of kids, and then pull the same 'Well Im the victim, actually' card when it comes to light again...if these kids even feel comfortable coming forward after how literally nothing was done last time. I feel so bad for Adam and her other victims.
    People throw around pedos like theyre some dark lore boogie man from fairytales so much that they don't know how to identify a real one, and that one can take the appearance of literally anybody regardless of outward apperance.

    • @EmpressTiffanyOfBrittany
      @EmpressTiffanyOfBrittany 6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah sadly the cancel culture thing can only go so far, if the said pedo has enough money and influence they can get away with anything unfortunately. If we want her put away we need to go after her money.

      Honestly, I think the whole "ukelele apology" meme caused people to start taking the whole situation less seriously. It's a prime example of why we shouldn't joke about things like this. I'd say it reminds me of Onision and how he got away with shit for so long. People memed on him and treated him as the buttjoke of the internet without realizing the severity of what was being done to his victims off-camera, and even after people saw how much of a creep he is, the bullshit with Chris Hansen getting involved downplayed it further instead of giving the victims real justice.
      I absolutely agree that cancel culture is flawed. It's merely a way for people to dictate eachother under the guise of "opinions". People who genuinely partake in cancel culture think they're lawyers when they're actually just chronically online lmao.

    I used to keep very up-to-date with Colleen's problematicness since around Thanksgiving 2021, but for the past 4 months I really haven't.
    I did see she came back though and that she said she kept doing the vlogs "for herself" during her break, which to me was kind of disappointing since I think her kids need a break from the camera.

    btw, just fyi. like and dislike makes no difference to YT/Algo. Each is simply a net positive in engagement.
    so say you have videoA with 900 thumb up and 100 thumb down, and VideoB with 100 thumb up, and 900 thumb down. Algo sees both as having 1000 in the "thumb rating" department. There is no direct effect otherwise. (this was at one point in google's own document) At the end of the day it cares about one thing "Does this video keep user on the platform longer? does it attract more users?", if answer is yes, It cares not whether you like it or not. It might be actively trying to change to other directions such as randomly polling users regarding some video they just watched. I don't know exactly how they are using this data. My guess is it is to better match user with videos they would engage with.
    Just a guess (not really), to a top tier YT designer / decision maker, the goal is NOT "lets match viewer with videos they like the most", the goal is "lets match user with videos they're likely to watch the most", which could be very positive videos, or very negative emotionally charged videos. (if you watch say a negative video about current state of some sad affair, and you get more depressed and you press the DISLIKE button, you leave a harsh comment, it suddenly recommends you more such videos of similar type, because you've shown great interest and engagement. It doesn't care if it's good or bad for your mental health or if such recommendation paints a wholesome or warped picture, it certainly doesn't care if you pressed liked or disliked, just that you pressed something. A quick side point, look at Colleen, because of that apology video, and now this video, she will get more views, engagement, monetary compensation and so on. Unless something extreme (like Cosby level), no attention is bad attention. - insert that trite adage about publicity here*.
    There is a reason it's such a common saying. Your attention = money and energy, that's it. Justin Bieber's net worth risen like crazy during the era where he is the most hated artist. Kardashians (enough said), Logan Paul (got famous from suicide forest video) leveraged it to w/e at some point (What he has is still more 10x what the avg person would make their entire life), which does take some E/Q. Just keep think about people that is super "well off", and you'll see the only common denominator is amount of attention, irrelevant to positive or negative ones. They don't call this attention driven economy for nothing. Right now if you were to check the analytics graph, after that apology video her chart went through the roof for sure. Every meme, every critic video, is a crap tons of people flooding her channel leave angry comments and thumb downs, all translating to $$$$ and more engagement and higher ranking.

    • @kobra4422
      @kobra4422 6 месяцев назад

      Exactly. Eugenia Clooney is the perfect example of it. She gets mostly negative attention and still gets viral. YT doesn't care abt anybody's mental health lol. Folks should understand this and stop try to "teach Colleen a lesson" by leaving negative comments.

I remember back when she was viewed in a much better light, way before she was called out for her predatory behavior, the clip with the boy reaching her pants had dozens and dozens of comments of mothers laughing at it like it was a harmless joke (i even had few replying to me in the same comments that i can't take a joke). So parents probably know, it's just that they can't fathom that someone like Colleen, who pretty much has a uwu soft mom image, is capable of horrid stuff.

Even though there was a sort of depressing tone at the end of the video your words are appreciated and thoughtful, the victims deserve justice and the sole fact that this isn’t an extremely popular topic yet you still made a video about it is commendable because that just isn’t common. Much love for the video and thank you for letting those of us who didn’t know, know now that not only is she back but she is not a sympathetic figure!

Sssniperwolf makes a lot for youtube and they only demonitized her for a short bit. No other punishment. Mini Ladd, Colleen, Shane Dawson, Yandere Dev, etc are all examples of creeps and pedos getting away with everything because laws aren't strict enough about Internet crimes against children. It happened to me too and another girl. We were groomed by a guy 7 years older than me when I was 13 and she was 12. She got out of the relationship at 16 while I stayed in it til adulthood. I only knew about her because she reached out to me with evidence of her story. I finally broke up with him and 2 days before my 21st birthday I finally had the courage to report him to the police after being told by so many people "move on" "it wasn't a big deal" *you'll ruin his life" "it's your fault". Because of the Statute of limitations in Texas, I would've had to report him at 16 for my groomer to be arrested. I will never get justice. That other girl won't get justice and thousands of other people like us will NEVER see groomers and pedos locked up because laws aren't strict enough. We have to live with the trauma and fear everyday that they're grooming other minors in more secret to not get caught again because the laws won't serve justice. It's a nightmare that'll never end and even though therapy and having loved ones to talk to helps, it'll never take the fear or trauma away.

They're not going to think to go out of their way to watch a video criticizing their favorite RUclipsrs. Collen stops uploading? Well her fans just won't be watching anything Colleen related until she does. Colleen comes back and then she can twist the story however she wants.
