This for me was one of them mornings that you will remember for a very very long time, after a night in a storm and then waking up to this is just a dream... Charlies tree is a stunner as well..
Don't normally comment on your vlogs Paul, but felt I had to in this instance. A cracking video with superb photos - colour, B&W and pano's. Particularly liked the pano at 3.38. Keep 'em coming
Awesome, thank you! you must comment it really helps the channel.. not sure people realise, even a thanks will do haha..
I love the way this is called Charlie’s tree! I personally photographed this tree and the viaduct behind it with Whernside over 10 years ago on a Canon 30D with a 17-40L. Does that mean it should be named after me? I even entered a black and white version into Take a View competition but it didn’t get selected. Just saying!! 🤔. Maybe it should be called Steve’s tree? At the end of the day It’s just a lovely tree and now unfortunately everyone knows about it🤪.
Well i have to say i agree lol Steve Tree it is... I think its because Adam vlogged it with Charlie..
Just watched your vlog again, and Ginger Captures, and by looking at the features around the location and Google earth, I think I’ve nailed the location.
haha its not hard to find really..

Fantastic vlog Mr C . B&W of the tree for me . take care and stay safe . All the best for 2022 .

The B&W are really nice, but I think the colours are just that bit nicer 👌. What a lovely tree and backdrop, glad the sky worked for you too 👍. Shall we call you “the sheep whisperer” now 😆
Lol calling all sheep
Brilliant as usual Paul how do u pick the right music for the scene.
i try hard to make it right
Wow some of your best pictures Paul wonderful!

So many portfolio shots there - well done
Thank you
Keep up the good work
Will do
It was bloody freezing the whole weekend but what an awesome weekend for photography thanks mate
It was one of the best 👌
📷
One of your best
haha thanks
That second pano of Ingleborough is very nice indeed. That hill behind Ribblehead is Whernside, the second highest of the three peaks. I am SO envious of this experience. Ribblehead is five and a half hours drive for me. I was there last week for a few shots with some amazing cloud, but these shots are amazing. I did a whistle-stop visit to the limestone pavements just before dusk too but I was a bit too far west for Charlie's tree. Now as for your CW Tree. Colour for sure. A different mono edit might sway me, but of the two in this vid, it's colour all the way; And you lucky bugger with those sheep. Check Andy Banner Photography on FB for my recent Dales shots.
Ok will do and yes its a great place in these conditions
Hi mate. Awesome pano's. The Mountain is called Whernside 736m or 2,372 feet. The winter scene with trees and sheep with Ribblehead viaduct .
came out ok
How long did it take you to find it really ? 🤣👍 gutted I missed it but looks like I might have froze with no heater in the van.
Lol it was cold -6 in the van
Stunning shots of the tree with Ribblehead viaduct framed under, can you just imagine if you got that shot with the Fying Scotsman steaming across in full steam !!!!
oh wow yer haha
Its Darren Waites tree assisted by Paul Compton....the picture of the Snow on the tree is Paul Comptons tree! assisted by Darren Waite.......I prefer all the colour versions of it! Well done you have some lovely pictures there! errr who's Charlie Waite?
Lol who wow he is quite a big name 🤣
Paul, the pano image of Ingleborough in the evening light is bloody fantastic. Both my parents were from Ingleton area and that image brought a tear to my eye. Thank you so much for this and all of your content, it is highly inspirational. We are many miles away, living by Loch Lomond and this video has made me determined to get back down home with my camera gear! Thank you, wishing you and Mrs C a happy new year!
Absolutely you need a trip back home haha
I hope you used the lay-by and did not park up the track. And the hill on the left on your later shots is Whernside. Quite a decent morning for you hope you got your Breakfast.
We parked in the parking area 😄
Had planned to visit this area during the year (my sister in law lives in Ilkley)
However covid has skuppered that one!
Lovely shots - will we ever get a chance to see the likes of this again
The winter has been very mild over here in Ireland, which is rather frightening
I rember ice on the window panes as a clild in the 60's
I'm showing my age 😂📷👍
I am hoping i can get to Ireland in 2022... for a week any locations North west your recomend
Cracking location what superb light on the hills for the first images. Love the addition of the sheep makes it a little different keep posting. Happy New Year to you and Mrs C
Glad you enjoyed it
I like that you have researched some of your locations without giving the position away, half the fun is finding places that inspire you to photograph yourself. The Lone Tree is lovely and from your images I can probably locate it but the limestone pavement nearby, Twistleton Scar is also a fine viewpoint for erratic boulders. Have you seen the Winskill Tree? The Bolton Speleo Club (of which I was a member) rented Upper Winskill Farm and in the 60's I remember this hawthorn as a young sapling.
I have not heard of this tree ill Google it now haha
Colour or b&w looks good. I'd be tempted to crop in even closer on the tree and let it totally fill the frame. Would you be losing anything of importance if you only just kept its extremities in ?
That's a good shout yer 👌
Great images Paul (and Darren's) Both monochrome and colour images were super. I'm sure you put food down for those sheep just so they drifted into frame right on cue. That tree couldn't have been positioned any better and frames the viaduct quite beautifully 📷👍
It's a perfect tree lol food me haha 😄
Fantastic video again 👏, that tree omg, it makes such a perfect image 👌. Thank you for your efforts Paul.
I think that's why it was shot by Charlie 😄
I really liked that tree pic. Great vid.
Thanks Garath good of you
Great vlog mate. Really pleased that your not giving the tree location away. Unfortunately it will get ruined as a location if you did
Defo
The second pano with the shed to the right s really, really nice - the best of that first set to me.
Thank you 😊
Super video, Paul. I love the tree images and prefer the colour shots even so the colour is very subtle. The fact that you captured these images after a snowfall adds a special dynamic to the "Waite" tree.
Oh yes it was perfect
I like the colour ones best, lovely vid. i bet a good breakfast and coffee was needed afterwards
Oh it was lol
I do like a good b/w shot Paul but Charlies tree somehow looked better in colour. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch.
Thanks so much means a lot
Love the tree shot fella al be needing to put that on the things to do list 📷👍feel free to inbox me the location and al get you a coffee when I see you in the road 👍
Drop me a line ill let you know
Hmm... have an idea where it is, thanks for showing around :)
Your welcome
Great images liked both colour and b/w
Thank you 😊
Hands down, black and white, Paul!
Really OK 👍
All it needed was a steam train, going left to right.
I know tell me about it

Thanks love it and good you two in a cold day and the snow .
Loved it
