Fantastic presentation and after so many years his enthusiasm for photography remains undiminished. Also fully agree with his comments on needing beauty in photography.
Aspirational and a must-see conversation for photographers. Grey hair in the room and casting back to Adams and other forefathers of photography rewards us with a product like this. Fabulous presentation / Q&A. Only my humble opinion, however, we need to hear more from these gentlemen (and ladies), so they share these invaluable physical, emotional and environmental experiences with us and we can absorb and learn to begin shaping our own mental and tehcnical abilities. Awesome!
I’ve practiced landscape photography for 15 years now and read voraciously about the practice. I have never seen a more cogent manifesto. Thank you Charlie Waite!
Our art form articulated in words that I can only dream of achieving. I hope I can produce at least one image some day that elicits such emotion in the observer(s). Two great icons. Thank you both. 👏👏👏
I heard Charlie live in Preston a few years ago on this lecture your. Inspirational, is my response in a single word. His patience, preparation and thought behind the image was enlightening. His philosophy of producing an image has endured in my mind and refined my approach to the craft. Charlie is perhaps our greatest ambassador of landscape photography as an art.
So inspiring. Especially in this day and age where every man and his dog has started to do photography vlogs. Nice to hear from someone like Charlie, and Joe with so much knowledge and experience.
Thank you for sharing this fantastic insight into Mr Charlie Waites beautifully creative thought process, he is a tremendously talented man and immensely inspirational. A joy to listen to.
I bought that Kertesz postcard in Manhattan some decades ago, selecting it from many in a postcard shop. It is an extraordinary image. Such wonderful light!
Thanks Charlie! I remember loving Ansel Adams 15 years ago although almost none of my age group knows him. Now listening to you talking about him makes me remember that love again for that great artist.
Really enjoyed seeing your photography Charlie but most of all your enthusiasm, passion, inspiration calmness and your descriptive language of the landscape will remain with me as I take to the field. Thank you.
Awesome work Charlie! "My little Dogies" shows how important it is to be in the right place at the right time, and how composition can be even more important than sharpness.
Wow that was such an incredible presentation very very inspirational. I thoroughly enjoyed listening Charlie you are a true gentleman I could listen to you talk about photography for days truly truly inspirational thank you so much
A brilliant presentation, who could complain about Charlie Waite going over time? Fancy being interviewed by the photographer who is only second to Michael Kenna in British landscape photographers.
fantastic presentation. I feel like I've got a good proportion of the technical skills i need but I need this kind of inspiration. I shy away from landscapes because they are hard but a lot of the lessons here apply to many types of photography.
I have his book: „The making of landscape photographs“. You should read it :) It’s funny: on almost every photograph he moans: look at this or look at that; don’t do this! LOL 😂 It could have been done better.... the sheep didn’t stay the way they should ... LOL
Speaker is enthusiastic, passionate and knowledgeable. Images are classic and impactful. HOWEVER, the speaker rambles on, after awhile becomes hypnotic. It took 15 mins just to show the first image. This presentation could have been delivered in 15-20 mins with a seasoned lecturer. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this to others Sorry
It is so refreshing to listen to someone who looks at photography in terms of artistic and emotional response, rather than gear and editing .
The greatest speech about photography ever made! Well done Charlie!
Phenomenal images and insightful provoking commentary. Totally enjoyable experience!

Absolutely wonderful! As fine as anything I've ever heard in an academic setting.
Absolutely loved this man’s energy and work
I’ve practiced landscape photography for 15 years now and read voraciously about the practice. I have never seen a more cogent manifesto. Thank you Charlie Waite!

The most articulate talk I have ever heard.
A most excellent insight into landscape photography and what should guide us in our pursuit of beauty
I love the square format with certain subjects. Thanks for reinforcing that esthetic!
Just beautiful!
Wonderful presentation, really enjoyable. Thank you Charlie.
Wonderful presentation, thank you so much.
Fantastic presentation, and incredible images!
It's nice to hear someone talking about photography instead of a sales pitch.
An inspiring insight once again, thank you Charlie.

That was so interesting 😊

What an amazing man,,, love him to bits! 😎
what a digital response, or should I say binary? BTW, do you know the photo sites in sensors are analog?
So great!
Awesome video, definitely giving me thoughts for my next photography tutorial and photoshoot!👌
Absolutely priceless

Im not British, but must say “Brilliant”!
Fabulous speaker and lovely guy in real life.
This is an amazing presentation filled with gravitas. Thank you!

I'd almost rather hear Charlie talk than look at his images!
The man is such an eloquent speaker.

One word 'Beauty'.
What an amazing man
It will take a week for me to watch this.
Charlie today you are the unintended ‘007 laugh of my life’..
Is this the brother of John Cleese? Good presentation.
I wonder what Charlie Waite thinks about mid journey, dall-e 2 and Stable Diffusion, AI generated or modified images
Beautyfully 👌and a Gentleman as well 😀
Sorry I didn't find this sooner.
Charlie, start bottling this enthusiasm and selling it!
I photographed that same house in Tuscany (58:28)... not the same result, I have to say. :)
💎💎💎's of wisdom .👈📷
Nappalm.. I was thinking do you mean Napalm lol
06:13 ''--Forgive me, I'm a bit old skool. But I'm alright about that. -''
