@@gunzyb There is not an industry like in France or the US. Here producers are totally on their own, and are dependant on the few economical support from the government to produce the films. The company that has made more movies is called Videocine, they make bad comedies that sell well with budgets between 500k and 1 million dollars and use the best of the bad talent for their movies, because the best mexican talents are working on Hollywood or Europe. And not just that, distribution is hell, because 90% of the movies that get produced are shown in 5 screens at most, and I am talking nationwide

We are only 15 students per generation, so word spread fast

Exactly. We can all figure out how to make our script for a minimal budget....but GETTING that budget together in order to execute the film is is hard part. We need more info on how to raise money. Especially without saying _"Crowdfund"_ (easy said: hard to do) and _"Apply for film grants"_ (one percent at best get funding and it's mostly short films that are financed)
I make comedy skits playing multiple parts for $0. I've done a one man short film for $0. I was the actor playing 2 roles, and did everything else. Anything is possible with creativity and a well thought out plan of action.

Yes made a feature for 5k with 23 actors in it, multiple locations and even a car scene! Everyone loved the script and did not want compensation just something on their resume.

I have a film I made for a lot less but it really only got into a couple film festivals. I’m at the point idc if my film makes money at all I just genuinely want a lot of people to see it so they know what I can do and to get my name out there more. I understand what my plan is next and all though it may be different than yours I’ve learned a lot about film distribution recently and how to get your film out there now I know what to do in a sense and I’d be happy to help if you feel like reaching out!

50,000? I couldn’t raise 5’000. Some people seem to forget that 50,000 is a yearly salary for a middle class person. They obviously can’t put all of their salary into a film. Of course, I don’t even make that. That’s why I choose to write instead of direct. I’m too poor to be a director.
He actually did mention this was a crowdfunded feature so it was not his own money and the post production outside of him swallowing that personally was crowdfunded so don't count yourself out. :)
If you have a phone/DSLR, you don't need anything else except for a PC and an editor software. Might I suggest you watch an Indian movie- Gulaal. Now this movie is totally made on a 0 dollar budget! How? 1. Director told the cast that he won't be able to give them money, so only come if you are genuinely interested and believe in the script. And you will only get paid if movie does some profit, we will share the money. 2. Lunch and props came from their respective homes. Let's say you need a flashlight, ask any crew member if they have it then bring it. 3. Locations were all free. Streets, abandoned buildings, apartments, houses of eithef you or perhaps of your crew member. Just ask for permission and you are good to go. 4. Prepare and practice before actually doing it. 5. Scenes of festivals were shot in real time. You want a halloween scene? Wait for Halloween then shoot the real people and put your actors there.. Nobody will know if you are even shooting a movie. 5. Just make a movie with less requirements. Maybe one or two actors, or "in a room" type, shorts! And then gradually level up
@@utsavdhyani8839 Things in America don’t work like that. You need permits if you want to shoot in the streets and only bottom of the barrel crew and actors will accept a movie project with no money. Bringing food from home? Nobody’s gonna do that here. You have to pay for food and that will cost you at least a couple hundred dollars a day.
@@utsavdhyani8839 this guy is right and this is not meant to be an insult at all it is pretty hard to make a film on 50 thousand let alone less and you do need to be extremely creative to widdle the idea/script down to 25k or 10k sometimes. I would also be glad to help tho as I’ve made a $1000 17 minute short film and all though I may not be the best qualified I think I have a good amount of experience and knowledge
It depends on a few things. What are you planning to do with it? Are you putting in your own money, are you crowd funding, or looking for traditional investment? How creative are you with your script and are you able to shoot it with a smaller budget? What is the aesthetic of your movie? Some movies look better with a very stripped down, amateurish look and others require a more "professional" look. Not to mention, what are you planning on doing with it when you're done? Can you sell it for more than $10k. There are just a bunch of factors required to answer your question.

50k is a lot here in Mexico. Low budget films cost around 10k, medium budget from 50k, high budget 500k and extremely high budget 1 million dollars

That is a great idea for feeding a lot of people. Hire a professional and make sure they have a kitchen large enough to prepare everything.

Currency Is a bit different in both countries though. He just explained that 10,000 alone goes to a location.
