Not related to this video, but I wanted to say "Thank You" to the MS team for quick and efficient delivering my order. I ordered some stuff from MS and some other from rm-aluminium. While MS did their job well, the rm failed by sending wrong poor quality stuff.

Yes, The E5X was designed to be paired with External Drivers that communicates using Pulse and Direction signal. For this reason, you can possibly use it with your current setup, given that the Stepper Driver communicates that way.
EtherCAT support is not included in the core functionality of grblHAL. The communication with Stepper or Servo Drivers is given by PWM control with Pulse and Direction. The PWM control with Pulse and Direction signals are the most communication protocol used in our current industry.
Phil Barrett sells its breakout boards for much less, running on teensy too. It was a bit of work to solder some parts actually, but still Is worth it.
Hi Lilow! The PC software E5X uses is ioSender. It is specially formulated for grblHAL controllers and allows the user to gain the full functionality of E5X's grblHAL firmware.
😂 got me like this on the x pro v5. Teensy board 4.1 with arm core 7 $50 bob unkit 5axis breakout board $50 with literally everything he just mentioned and probably more to be honest but hey for an extra $200 you get both boards in a nice case 🤦….. and by the way ….. when it finally was time to “drop in” the v5 it didn’t work. Well past the return period (I’m a trucker so it took a while) my machine is up, super rigid, ready to go with no controller, except for this piece of sh…oot my wife’s calling do yourselves a favor and just buy the boards I’m waiting on mine save $200 and still get to go through the headache that you’re gonna have to go through with these people anyways They do have good extrusions though can’t lie C beam heavy is good stuff
We're truly grateful for your honest feedback. We understand that every journey has its bumps, and we're committed to smoothing out those rough spots for our valued customers like you. While the E5X seems to be just another grblHAL board at first glance, we have made a comparison and we're excited to share some key features that set our board apart from others, ensuring a seamless and efficient CNC experience: - Clone Axis Selection: With selectable clone axis via on-board jumpers, our board allows you to clone either the X, Y, Z, A, or B axis, providing unparalleled flexibility in your machining operations. - Closed Loop Drivers Feedback: Our board incorporates closed-loop driver feedback, ensuring precise control and accuracy in every movement. - 24V Compatibility: Available for inductive switches, our board supports 24V operation, catering to a wider range of setups and applications. - Pre-Soldered and Pre-Flashed: Our board comes with pre-soldered pins (ready-made) and pre-flashed with firmware, eliminating the need for any fiddling or setup hassles, so you can get started right away. - Durable Metal Case: Featuring a strong metal case, our board is designed to prevent damage from static charges, ensuring long-lasting reliability. - Protection Features: With reverse polarity and short circuit protection, along with built-in replaceable over-current and short circuit protection fuses, our board prioritizes safety and longevity. - Pluggable Screw Terminal Connectors: Our board features all-round pluggable 3.81mm pitch screw terminal connectors for I/O, eliminating the need for soldering and reducing the risk of damage often associated with screw terminals. - Status LEDs: With status LEDs for limit switches, alarm inputs, spindle function, and digital outputs, our board offers clear and easy diagnostics, allowing for quick troubleshooting. - Ethernet and USB Connectivity: Our board offers both Ethernet and USB connectivity as standard, allowing you to pick one or the other at will without requiring a firmware change, providing greater convenience and versatility. - External USB and Pre-Installed Ethernet: Our board comes equipped with an external USB and pre-installed Ethernet, ensuring hassle-free connectivity options to suit your specific setup. - Filtering Circuit for Spindle Control: With a filtering circuit for 0-10V spindle control, our board ensures smooth and reliable spindle operation, enhancing overall performance and precision. It is also important to note that the features mentioned above are only features that distinguish ourselves . For a full comprehensive datasheet, please visit: makerhardware.net/knowledge-base/electronics/e5x-mcs-t4-1-controller/ Thank you for recognizing the quality of our extrusions. We take pride in delivering top-notch products that meet and exceed expectations. Your satisfaction is our ultimate goal, and we're determined to turn any challenges into opportunities for improvement.
The short answer: No, we do not use Open Builds Logo. The long answer: Many companies like Maker Sore and Open Builds have adhered to the Open Source Hardware Logo. The Open Source Hardware (OSHW) logo is a symbol used to represent products, projects, or initiatives that adhere to the principles of open-source hardware. It consists of a gear shape with an open padlock in the centre. The gear represents machinery and technology, while the open padlock signifies accessibility, transparency, and freedom.
It is fast because teensy is fast. How much is it for the breakout board ?
Very interested but is there any chance of a wiring diagram for closed loop steppers? Also wiring for a VFD etc.
Loving the board! Could we get a video on how to update the firmware?
I am from Germany and would have liked to test the controller.
At least it makes a very good and well thought-out impression.

So do i connect this to a power supply and plug in any stepper motor i want ? was wondering if i can use this on my foxalien 3020cnc

Looks interesting. There are no internal drivers, right?
No internal drivers, we keep the drivers separate to provide upgradability as the technology advances
is there ethercat support

Does it support mach 4
Hey @spiceymibba8078 the E5X controller only supports ioSender. If you have any further questions on the E5X we are happy to answer them!
All most 500 💵 , is to expensive for a grblhal board !
Phil Barrett sells its breakout boards for much less, running on teensy too. It was a bit of work to solder some parts actually, but still Is worth it.
What PC software does this use ?

Can be used on a 3Dprintere
A 3D printer requires different firmware, grblHAL doesnt support the type of G-Code used in 3D printing currently, but maybe in future builds!
