I enjoyed the twist on the usual format. For ways to handicap the pros in future editions, my ideas would be:
•Make the pros play with starter paddles (like the ones that come with starter sets at Walmart)
•Let the weak side be even weaker and use handicap scoring, like the pros start down 0-9 against 4.5, or maybe 0-4 against 5.0, playing normal. (No rally scoring or required formations.)
•Move the kitchen line back (temporary line) ~5 feet on the pros' side. The lower the non-pro rating, the bigger you make the kitchen for the pros.
•Against significantly weaker opponents, like 4.5 or below, pros have to play with non-dominant hand.
•Give the non-pro team a pro coach to give suggestions during time-outs or between games, while the pros have limits on how much they're allowed to talk strategy between themselves. That could help highlight the importance of both strategy and communication (if the match is close enough).
(In case it's not clear, those are ideas to do one at a time, not all together.)

More rule variations, to be adjusted depending on skill gap:
      • Shrink or even eliminate kitchen for weaker side.
      • Weaker side allowed to volley on return. (No 2-bounce rule.)
      • If weaker side has enough skill or tennis background to pull it off, remove limits on how high they can contact the ball on the serve.
Such rule variations could highlight why the rules exist in the first place. The higher the skill level of the opponent, the more they matter. (I would expect that to be true of good/crappy paddles, too, having much more impact when opponents are closer in skill level.)
      Some silly ones:
      • Any hits by the pros that hit the net cord are either do-overs or faults.
      • Pros wear an eye patch over one eye, to mess with depth perception.
      • Pros play with those small trainer paddles designed to work on hitting sweet spot.
      • Pros drink some smallish amount (like half a shot of beer) every time they hit a ball out or in the net.
•Recruit one or two expert trash talkers to roast and distract the pros during the match. (Maybe even given them an air horn.)

I really enjoyed it!! Keep this as a regular feature. Things I really liked: 1. players are miked up; 2. Showing the strategy discussions of each team; 3. Quality of the video is really good; 4. The "disadvantage" put on the pro team helps illustrate different aspects of the game, like the effectiveness of drops and ball placement. Here Adrian and Maximo did a good job of targeting where the pros were not. Again, I loved it!

I was surprised at how cool it was to see a panning camera from the baseline during the rally. The continuously changing perspective helped highlight the dynamic nature of the rally. Made it feel a lot more similar to being a player on the court.

Yeah exactly. One person can’t volley on each team. Or maybe have the non volley person switch each point or possession throughout the match? Might also be interesting to experiment between rally vs. traditional scoring for that as well depending on what a more equal matchup would produce as far as scoring but matches might last days😂

Loved watching this! Another handicap that could be added in conjunction with a slight bigger kitchen for the pros would be a center line that runs through the pro kitchen were the person has to stick to the side they’re on at the serve. That would really work the comms, reduce the poaching, and keep a more agile or stronger player from dominating 70% of the court.

Excellent play!!!! Great format!! I think you could do "call outs" like in street outlaws. Lower level. To give us a chance to see what it takes to compete at a high level. We all play local tournaments but it still doesn't hit right. If we only had a chance to play with pros....🙌🙌🙌🙌
    What to improve.....
Maybe mixed doubles with pro women as well. We all know how well you play with anna bright in the MLP!
I do like the 1 up and 1 back. I know there were a couple of faults coming up to the kitchen with with 2 up. And no one back and you gave up the point because of it, i just think it would be ok if you had to come up to hit a cross but, go right back to keep the 1 up and 1 back. It shouldn't be a fault.
The fault would be if you stayed up there for the next ball.
P.s. i also agree with many here. Sideline breakdowns with commentating!!! Amazing and the cuts you did helped shorten up the video as a whole. But i feel thats what we want to see. No short videos because the pace of play is what we all want to see.
    ********* Idea********
How about the pro's have a checklist of things they have to do within a match. Like by the end of the game your team would have to check off all boxes on a randomizer type of board....meaning, you would have to ernie, bert, scorpion, tweener, ATP, reverse ATP(non dominant backhand) some of these things picked out of a hat to accomplish or you lose.
LMK what you think. Hopefully this is the type of feedback you wanted. Always loved watching you play. Great job guys. Way to go with giving us more PICKLEBALL!!!!

    The mic'ed players was fun.
    Time out discussions were fun.
Zane being Zane is always fun.
Id like to see pros start the game at a deficit. (Handicap)
I'd say play non dominant hands, that would be difficult with Jack Munro.
This scenario would also have been more difficult with Zane and a rh player. TBH I think 5.0s win every time if Zane is another rh player. Maybe not with Riley n., James i., Conner g.
Oh yeah...... I'd also id love to see Zane and Jack paired up in the PPA.
For some reason this video wouldn't go hi-def and RUclips app wouldn't let me change the video quality, it said"unavailable". Pulled up the video on a browser and it was HD there and I could change the quality. Zane's other videos have never given me any issues.

Pros vs. 5.0s ideas: 1) Pros must only play with backhand. 2) Pros must play with nondominant hand. 3) Pros must play with a wooden paddle or not their usual paddle. 4) 5.0s play with an illegal or seemingly illegal paddle (i.e., delaminated paddle, Franklin Sweet Spot Trainer, or maybe with just the Gearbox Power Pro Elongated). 5) Pros must only hit down the line. 6) Pros must only hit cross court.

    * Pros have to switch paddles with each other twice before the point counts.
    * Pros have to play 2 on 1 until 4th shot?
    * Pros have to play with one hand in their pocket….😂
    * The court is smaller for the non pros
    * The pros have to carry a bag of grocery’s…😂The losers eat something from the bag.

It's not really feasible, because all they would have to do is drop/dink, so one of the pros would need to come up to cover that, and then the 5.0s would just aim for that guy's body on the very next shot - which the pro would have no choice but to dodge. I mean, sure, you could play that game - but it's too easy to exploit and wouldn't be entertaining.

Love this format so leverage similar games? Maybe 3 people per side, one stays backs or other versions you have seen/played. I love watching the winning team get to smack balls at the losers as the prize for winning but I'm not a healthy minded human. LOL@@ZaneNavratilPickleball

Idea: Handicap pros by making them wear bandaids around fingers between first and second knuckles to mess with their feel.

Great stuff, new challenges: pros wear eye patches to screw with depth perception. pros play connected somehow.. bungy cord or have to hold hands. Also add ring girls.

Not sure what Jack Munro meant by "amphibious" at 5:33 mark, but it's so impressive that he's ambidextrous!!! I can't tell if he's righthanded or lefthanded. He serves with his right hand, has a lefthanded and righthanded forehand, and does a two-handed or one-handed backhand on his right side. Wowee zowee! So fun to watch.
P.S. I found this video that reveals his handedness!

I liked that you were all miced. Bring in a female pro against a mixed 5.0 +. The after analysis by both sides was excellent. I'd also be interesing to hear the younger pros take, like PH.

Coming from a badminton background I was wondering how a front back offense would work out! However in badminton when you go side to side that's defense.

Great content! What if you started 4.5 vs 5.0 then winner gets 5.5 then winner gets pro. I’m a 4.8 and I’d love to see the difference in levels!!! 🙏

I think MLP/PPA should take notes and seriously incorporate some of the production of what you guys made here into their pro matches. It reminds me a little of NFL mic'd up stuff. And please give your camera/editing people a raise.

Great format. How about adding in a game at the end where the pros play 100% and are not restricted so we can see how much better they are.

@@ZaneNavratilPickleball I think so. It would be good to see the impact without using drives in a pickleball game for pros. Of course, 5.0+ players can still use all shots available to them :)
