Newbie’s question, when adding fixtures, when patching, since the console will assign DMX address automatically to each fixture, does the fixture itself has to be on a specific mode? DMX address mode? Channel 001? Does it have to be on a specific DMX channel? Slave mode? Etc. I’ll appreciate any help!
You get to choose all of these things, the console can set them automatically when you select the fixture type and quantity, and then you enter those settings into the fixtures.
Hi David, I love the concept of the NX1. If only Obsidian'd add the little LCDs/scribble strips, this would be my ultimate controller. A question: I am looking for a solution to automate the programming of common presets and playback buttons through programmer automation. In early times we were able to use LUA scripts through M-Tools, later called ShowCockpit, well known to you too I'm sure. Now this 'feature' / leak depending on who you ask was patched. How would you go about achieving this nowadays? E.g. creation of color palate screens is stupid and very automatable work. It takes me 1-2 hours to set this up for new shows and it's a total waste of time.

What a terrible video. Seems to be filmed with a potato without any focus! It is impossible to read any of the texts on the board because of the unsharp focus of the camera. Pity, because now you just get tired of watching this, trying to read what's happening on the console instead of getting excited to buy one of these consoles. 😵

Most boards have a physical fader for GM. Is there a way to assign one of the faders on the NX-1 to GM?
Not directly, but you can build a Inhibitive fader with all your lights, and it's then your GM
can you do timecode on it?
Yes! It doesn't have SMPTE ports, so you will need to send your timecode over the network, or get the NX-SYNC accessory, but yes.
