    Great video! You really look like you know how to do everything, hopefully I can do things properly like you do when I get started in 2 more months. What's your opinion on assisting in Oral surgery? Is it better than General?

      Good luck in dental assisting school :)
      It takes a certain person to enjoy Oral surgery and that is not me . I don't enjoy watching people being under sedation nor do I enjoy the amount of blood and blood splatter . I enjoy general but by far Ortho or Endo are my favorites.
      Ps. no one likes endo because they fall asleep lol

    Omggg you do clinical notes? No way sorry I'm fascinated by how happy you are doing your work and I have assistants that have a problem with evn doing other things like making patients bags no way lol how many patients a day do you see in your office?

    • @margaritagaona
      @margaritagaona  2 года назад +2

      Yes the doctor whom I work for had us do his clinical notes . He checks them by the end of the day or week . Our office sees 8 hygienist patients . About 8-10 patients a day . Ranging from limited exams , crown preps , composite or new patients .
      We do patient goody bags whenever there is time :p sometimes there’s not time but when we do have time we jump on it because seeing the patient walk out with a goody bag feels good (:

      @@margaritagaona oh ok that's nice and sounds good. Where is the office located? My office is in NY we see about 20 - 30 patients a day.

    Love the video, question how does your spire test not fail when touching with your hands? 🤔 mine would fail lol I always use gloves.

    • @margaritagaona
      @margaritagaona  2 года назад +1

      Thank you :) , we’ve never had a failed spore test . Prior to sending out we wash our hands for 30 seconds . Spore test usually fail when it’s a mechanical issue such as overloading sterilizers possibly circle time to low … etc . Hope this helps (:

    How do you organize yourself with the patients notes between each patient ? & remembering every detail ?

      I use sticky notes ☺️ or I’ll grab an old school chart and then I’ll transfer the information over.

    Why is it that when you go in the morning, the room is dirty? I mean the last person to leave doesn’t clean up?

    • @margaritagaona
      @margaritagaona  Год назад

      If we don’t have time we will usually leave it for the next morning but That’s usually not the case . We usually finish cleaning up so we don’t have to worry about it in the morning :)

    Is there a reason you became an assistant and not a hygienist? I like to ask because I’m thinking of being an assistant instead of a hygienist.

    • @margaritagaona
      @margaritagaona  Год назад +1

      I became an assistant because I needed to find a fast career where I was able to go to school ; work ; and be a mom .
      Dental hygiene schooling is intense but it is worth it . If you can I suggest to pursue dental hygiene instead of dental assisting.

      @@margaritagaona Thank you. I have been debating this. The only hygiene program around me is usually waitlisted lol. But I could become an assistant and just keep applying for the hygiene program. At least that way, I’d be in the field until I get in. Thank you for the reply.
