Love this pattern! I made one for me for winter. Thank you for the video. The instructions are very clear but I am a visual person so this helped me do double zipper which I could do like the video. The zipper tape I ordered from you was cut on both ends so I sewed it on and then was able to install the second zipper. I did black leather (leather business). And I add extra cutaway stabilizer. I also added a big pocket inside ( width of inside on one side). I’ll be making a second purse for summer and putting a second pocket on the outside.
Hi there! Thanks for asking your great question! Jess is using a domestic sewing machine in this tutorial and so this should work just fine in your machine! If you have any further questions, just let us know. :)
I need top and sides marked on a pattern, or at least mentioned in pattern instructions. I just fussy cut a (very limited amount) pricey fabric for the exterior in the wrong direction. 1st time customer. Also, you need to print the pdf version of the pattern in color or you lose a lot.
Hello, thank you for the feedback. I am sorry to hear of the mishap in cutting your piece. On page one, on the left about half way down, it says under the cutting instructions -pieces are width x height. You are correct, Color is the way to go to see the right and wrong side of the different fabric/interfacing ,etc pieces. We hope your bag turned out fantastic.
@@SallieTomato I am very grateful for your videos as I couldn't make this bag without them and thank you for this response. I was thinking the same thing as @bzystpn. I haven't cut my fabric yet but was looking for instructions for directional fabric. Having widthxheight is nice but not totally obvious, especially for beginners. Thanks again!
Carrie...could you share what you ended up doing? I'm guessing I could recut my pocket and make it so I have a follower piece and loose the raw edges in side seams....maybe less height of pocket to make it work.

Thanks for commenting and sharing your extra tips, we are so glad you enjoyed this video! :)
Could you cut your pieces with the foam out of the seam allowances and still have a structured bag?
You could trim the foam close to your seam allowance. Try our Air Mesh for an easier to sew option.
Nice instructional video.
Thank you! :)
are you using a domestic sewing machine? or is that semi industrial? i have a domestic sewing machine, just wondering if mine can handle it.

@@nailvidz4186 you are welcome.
Loved this pattern!!!!
Thank you! 😊
So did anyone notice that adding the strap arches renders the slip pocket kind of useless?!?!? 😫😫😫
Yes, I took a class at my local quilt shop, and she showed us how to do it differently so you use the slip pocket!
Yes, Totally worthless outer pocket.
@@carriew.3537 could you kindly share how?

I lowered the height of my slip pocket. I have room for my phone and the outsides for pens and a pen light. I’d add a pic but don’t know how here.
What thread do you use?
We are big fans of Sulky's 40 wt thread. We have a ton of colors available on our site!
Cute
Thank you
