    @5:45 Not a TD since the "QB" in this situation has their knee on the ground before he releases the ball. EWU escaped with one here, but still another great win by NDSU

    • @aielan
      @aielan 6 лет назад +2

      Not true. There is an exception in the rulebook for ball holders. They are exempt from the dead ball rule and can pass or otherwise advance the ball even when their knee is down.
      In NCAA Rule 4, section 1:
      ARTICLE 3. A live ball becomes dead and an official shall sound his whistle or declare it dead:
      [...]
      b. When any part of the ball carrier’s body, except his hand or foot, touches the ground or when the ball carrier is tackled or otherwise falls and loses possession of the ball as he contacts the ground with any part of his body, except his hand or foot [Exception: The ball remains alive when an offensive player has simulated a kick or at the snap is in position to kick the ball held for a place kick by a teammate. The ball may be kicked, passed or advanced by rule]

    • @seanodell7129
      @seanodell7129 6 лет назад +1

      @@aielan So, I also looked it up and you are 100% correct. For anyone else following these comments, the only way the holder is down is IF they raise their knee and put it back on the ground, as this now makes them a runner, not a holder. Great correction!

      @@fabiantaveras8458 everything I've read can basically be summed up with 2 points:
      1. NDSU doesn't meet certain stadium nor football funding requirements for FBS.
      2. No conference worth NDSU competition has reached out.
      North Dakota has made cuts to public education funding in the last few years, and if that trend continues, I don't see the Bison making the jump any time soon.
