Key point: Lat pull down arch through thoracic spine NOT lumbar spine (lower spine) 2:50
Where elbow aims is where you're working your back 4:40

I'm so impressed with Ben b/c unlike most IFBB pros he is not using completely idiotic terms like "squeezing the muscle", but backs up all of his output with logic, common sense and science based data. I follow alot of guys like John Meadows, Shelby Starnes, Bret Contreras, Scott Stevenson and so on and you guys are a breath of fresh air in a sport full of meatheads! Thank you Ben!

You had done one video already about chest, the part where you mention pectoral contraction in relation to the position of your elbow compared to the median of your body. I have to say, it blew my mind, and it has tremendously affected my chest training. I don't think so much about squeezing my hand anymore, but imagining where my muscle attaches and how i can reduce the gap in between. Inspiring in every way, thanks Ben.

I have thought the same thing. People incline or shoulder press all this weight but they have a huge arch so that a 30° incline is essentially a flat bench and a shoulder press is more like a 45° incline.

Simple yet effective logic behind this. Something so simple that its often over looked as you have said. For back training at the 90 degree angle maybe behind the neck pulldowns would be optimal or even pulling the bar down the top of your head? Of course engaging your elbows for the contraction......would this be correct ben? Great info btw
