He always explains things in a matter that is easier to understand and he has a very interesting way of delivering information that makes you want to pay attention and listen closely.

This was a great insight. Interesting questions and even more interesting answers. As someone who is currently starting his PhD in the field of security, hearing this interview was quite inspiring.
Well, the comic book Peter Parker was a bit of a science nerd. I mean, they had to come up with a reason for where his webs came from and, like, he's a bit of a chemistry nerd and invents the web formula himself.
Interesting! I have been using a plant identification app on my phone for a while now which I find really helpful on hikes and such. I’m routinely amazed at the accuracy of the identifications given I’m just using a cell phone camera and considering how closely many plants resemble one another in terms of leaf structure, fruits etc. I wonder if any of Mike’s work went into these apps?
great insight into Dr. Mike's background and thoughts. A few shrugs but no grabbing of left shoulder by left hand today probably meaning he wasn't too intellecutally troubled by the interview. He seemed a bit more conciliatory on government snooping than I would have given him credit for however? Some more grilling on this subject is in order, possibly with some of the other security types on Computerphile! A government-vs-privacy roundtable?

Still waiting for the logjam video! Logjam has been one of the most fascinating things I have ever read. You should definitely make a video on it and it's implications.
Cool to hear that you recommend the book from my professor ("Introduction to Cryptography" by Christof Paar) . Can absolutely recommentd his lecture too :)
That bit about R&D code, lol. Some of the papers I've read in undergrad were eye-bleeding to look at. That translates to industry pretty well. Whenever we have a PhD they usually write absolute garbage code and generally underperform but they know the specialty (I'm speaking specifically with respect to video encoding) with amazing amount of in-depth knowledge at a conceptual & mathematical level.
Fun fact : I did two tentative in Biology at the university before going to computer sciences. I was already programming a bit for 4-6 years before that but never a lot.
