The little grip you weren't sure about is a second grip for the tripod gun (.50 cal) you can swap out the 2 handles for the single grip and it will be the version of the gun Roadblock originally came with. The new Tiger Force 2-pack with Roadblock and Tripwire will come with the same gun.
As a kid from the 70s- this is what I’ve been waiting for! Yeah, we didn’t have a mega corporation tell us what to name him or who he was fighting. In Ft Bragg- we didn’t really care that Hasbro try to lessen the militaristic aspects of Joe. I remember in the Philippines as a kid (1968)- the Filipinos called us, “GI Joe”. I even was issued “dog tags” the old style with the carved out piece , to wedge in between the front teeth (it really wasn’t for that). Our enemies were the Germans- Every one of our fathers was 82nd Airborne, or Green Berets on my street- except for me: Air Force🤣
Yeah, Kyle's making me feel old! He doesn't remember the days and figures before the cartoon when "soldier" and "sailor" were sometimes exactly what the GI Joe figs were called. Or after that, the Adventure Team. Or Super Joe's, LOL!!!
Instead of building a platoon with these ? I do also have another idea??? Could use two 2⃣ of these with dessert Commando snake eyes as a couple back up ninja soldiers for snake eyes not likely that he would need back up but would still look BADA** REGARDLESS!!!
The second pair of hands go with the black head sculpt-they aren’t brown gloves. I’m an older collector, and the ‘60’s and ‘70’s generic Joes are what I grew up with, so this is an awesome figure for me. As a few others have written, it’s too bad that Hasbro passed on the opportunity to release a Classified version of the original Joe head sculpt. Good review!
I wish there was more love for the 60s and 70s joes today. I'm a collector in my mid 20s and have absolutely adored the original Joe's for most of my life. I collect all eras, but something about the originals I love the most. Over the years of going to collector shows, it is disappointing to see the original 12 inch collectors and items slowly fading into more and more obscurity. I really wish there was a way to revamp people's interest in the 12 inch Joe's. The 40th anniversary reissues from the early 2000s flopped and scared Hasbro away from doing them again unfortunately
Kind of a fun fact about the Valerverse "Action Force" line; Action Force was a european brand that brought Gi Joe ARAH to a bunch of different markets across Europe. It was originally based on the "Action Man" brand, which was the orginal 12 inch Gi Joes licensed by Palitoy from Hasbro. The initial line was a 1:1 copy of Joe, but they quickly relased their own sets based on the British military (as well as many others), and adventure themed sets. They got many more sets and variants than Gi Joe ever did, they also created the gripping hands (known as Kung fu Grip in the US), the muscle body figures, and eagle eye heads. Anyway, Action force was the 3.75 inch Joe's, but like many action man figures, had a ton of unique figures and sets. Im not sure what happened over the years to get the brand is where it is now, but in my eyes it is just Gi Joe's overseas cousin. Its cool seeing them coexist again. There is 60 years of rich, deep history with these brands, it would be worth looking into. Gi Joe was known as dozens of different names across the world with a whole ton of different variants and unique sets not seen in the US.
I'm new to collecting GI Joes , it's this 60th anniversary series that got me collecting.... then I chased other GIs like Snow Job, Flint, Spirit .... To me besides the cool characters.... they were the absolute elite of our military forces ...
This was before my time, like yours Kyle. I do love army builders. Especially if they look cool. I'll be picking a few infantry soldiers up when I can.
Missed opportunity to include a 1/12 scale headsculpt of the 1960’s GI Joe (Action Man for us Brits) to tie it in to the original - definitely picking these up though
That was definitely my one complaint, it is a huge and obvious oversight. A extra head with the classic Joe look with a scar would have been incredible. For the cost of this set, I would have liked to see it
So I'm putting 3 of these infantry soldiers with desert Commando snake 🐍 eyes instead of my original plan of 2 and with gas masks 🎭 there definitely going to be a unique team with snake 🐍 eyes!!! One can do what one wants with one's own Joe's displays!!! Like you always say kyle at the end of the day!!! In your usual way!!!
I love this figure and has moved to the top of my want list for classified. I get the no feelings as this line is about capturing the 80s commercial gijoe area, but from and straight up cool factor, these are the figures even as a kid in the 80s I gravitated to. realistic combat figures and anyone with a mask, lol.
just picked this up today at target. great figure but has 2 minor issues, no FX port in the pistol (but it has the port in the promo shots) and my LMG's (the larger rifle) trigger guard is too big so it won't peg onto the backpack. might pick up another one due to all the display options.
These Joe's for me remind me of the expendable red shirt star trek crew members 😅 there slightly fairly cheesy like a joe after market soldier but made by the hasbro team 😮 so knowing that makes them okay 👌 😅😅😅
Good review. We have two so far and really like both of the 60th anniversary figures but especially this one. I’m planning on doing a small troop build of this Infantry Trooper. I just found out that apparently some Target stores have these!
Definitely a background character for figure photography getting killed by deadpool or someone, accessories can go with other figures from the line like roadblock
Not a bad genera soldier but as a modernized take on the original action soldier… I dunno. Not feeling it. I would’ve liked at least one of those heads to be a re-creation of the original ‘64 headsculpt Now, I can’t be the only one that wants to see Classified Adventure Team figure, right?
Was just thinking the exact same things. Where is the scar faced Joe, based on medal of honor recipients back then. Its cool regardless but a missed opportunity that seems glaringly obviously.
So during my commenting here I decided to just stay with what I have on these not build up anymore!!! Changed my mind while commenting on these today, Backup for snake 🐍 eyes is how I'm displaying these!!!
A figure I might actually get at full price from Hasbro as opposed to playing the Ross game. The value is definitely here for the money and it would look good with the Valaverse stuff.
This being as cheap as it is for what you get is an outlier for Hasbro in recent years, I was shocked. Generally speaking Valaverse has a better bang for your buck (and Hasbro has been paying attention because you can see they took cues from Valaverse on these 60th figures).
@@adampulchinski4015 that’s probably right, competition will hopefully keep Hasbro on their game, no pun intended, I love these Anniversary figures though, the load outs are great!
They actually originally produced Gi Joe in the 80s for various European markets under the name "Action force." They were initially based on the original 12 inch action man, which was Gi Joe licensed by palitoy from Habro in the UK. Its cool and kinda funny seeing them pop up again, but this time being direct competitors to Habro instead of partners. Going against the very brand they were part of
This is an interesting figure, lots of stuff, yet seems so bland. Like you, I like the figures I grew up with, the figures with names. I am only collecting the figures that I have an attachment to, so this looks like it will be a pass for me.
I'm not getting the different color 🔫 weapons here!!! Carded duke has a green weapon 😮 long as the don't start the cheesy pink and yellow weapons like they did back in the day 😅😂😂😂

I'd throw the retro Duke's head on it to give him a modern look great review man!

I just threw in more of my 2 cents taday then usual 😅
Both 60th anniversary figs look great, but I'll play the long game. I buy only if they go on sale. I also don't have any connection with them.
Is it better to collect the small vintage ones or new age ones?
Definitely a background character for figure photography getting killed by deadpool or someone, accessories can go with other figures from the line like roadblock
That cool
I'm just being funny 😅 there alright 😮 but just backyard or backup for other Joe's!!!
The Expendable Joe!!!
The original Joe, the one responsible for every other Joe and every action figure since 1964. Arguably, the most important Joe.
Really like the action solder and diver. I believe a marine and ….salor? Are coming out in the fall
Marine and AF Pilot.
