It says "for beginners" but I swear many of the higher belts benefit going through the details again as well. Or perhaps fine tuning their throw for the first time. You tend to see all kinds of forms depending on what's a person's favourite/least favourite technique and how long it is since they drilled it with focus. Just like you can sometimes see black belts looking like they were learning uchi mata for the first time in a seminar. Rambling aside, great content for anyone really. I'm a firm believer you can never be too good at the fundamental basics and can never practice and focus them to perfection. I've never learned or done the tsurite "pop" to get the arm out of the way. Now I will. Morote is such a cool technique, so simple/basic tool yet so much to learn and master. I love how your instructionals are so varied, demonstrating multiple different circumstances and what to note in them.
Sensei, welcome to the new year of 2023 with happiness and health ... and welcome as well to your team judo from all the videos. This year, I am looking forward to your new upload videos ... thank you!
@@fluidjudojapan Sensei, my last training this week, I was focus only based on your drop/low seoi nage video ... keeping the " good posture " as you encourage everyone. Changing the tsurite or hikite with elbow forward and the right / left foot work ...I felt more secure and easier in my transition than " traditional " seoi nage. Thank you for your videos. Oss.
@@fluidjudojapan '22 Tokyo Grand Slam is coming...big event is knocking to the door! Sensei, what are your predictions for Japanese Judoka? Do you have a favorite judoka?
I am a novice in Judo. I am right handed. I always have pain in my right elbow when throwing the morote seoi nage. How can I avoid this pain or injury? Thanks.
Am I correct that in japan seoi nage refers to ‘morote’ and in europe seoi nage means ippon seoi nage? Do you know why in japan they prefer morote seoi nage over ippon seoi nage?
Thanks Olivier De Jong🖐️ in japan, seoinage=morote seoinage ippon seoinage is ippon seoinage I don't think that in Japan, morote seoinage is preferred over ippon seoinage. These are equally preferred👍 I would be happy if it was helpful🙇♀️
Sensei, is any chance you can upload a video with reverse seoi nage ? I know this technique is banned by the IJF from competitions, but I would like to have your video & comments about this technique. I know the beauty of judo lost something when IJF decided to increase the "safe" factor in competitions....but I believe the true judo lost something here!

This is the best Judo channel I've found. The level of detail and instruction on slight variations and multiple angles in slow motion is excellent.
Thank you so much Joseph Roberts🙇♂️
