#GameBoy #Nintendo - Игры
I feel like I've been here before
You have. Lol.
Sup Griffin Gaming!
Bro as a huge Game Boy collector this video was just perfect. Great work!!
I like videos like this. Reminds me of the Gaming Historians videos
Thank you!
“Stop me if you’ve already seen this” -Steve Jobs
Really like this type of gaming historian videos. Rich’s snarky commentary provides a unique flare. Sega Genesis or Game Gear next please.
As stated last time this was uploaded, you and Jay did a fantastic job on this one. Hopefully the algorithm treats you guys better this time around.
Reported bot under here. YT gotta get their sheeet together
The contrast between the GamingHistorian-like production value and Rich's commentary was hilarious. I would love to see more of these.
I'd love to see Rich do more...... tech reviewing..... he's hilarious and I enjoy videos like these
Already one of my favorite Nintendo vids on YT. Really impressive work, guys.
Got my Game Boy for Christmas 1991 and my Game Gear for my 13th birthday in Dec 1993. Loved them. Game Boy felt like it lasted 10 times longer. Had this cool thing called 3.5 mm headphone jack.
I distinctly remember looking in awe at this technological marvel almost every week. A real portable gaming system and such tiny cartridges! It took two years for the "novelty" to wear off. I still have my Game Boy, in perfect working condition. That thing was epic!
Same here. I remember the day my dad said I've go a surprise for you. Handed me a Gameboy with Mole Mania. Sheesh what a day.
I didn’t own a handheld until the GameBoy Color and NeoGeo Pocket Color 🐔
Awesome retrospective! I still remember when I got mine when it first came out, it was a gamechanger! I loved it!
Ahh childhood memories
The Game Boy was pretty much “that thing” that everybody eventually had. It was mainstream whereas the Lynx and Gamegear were pricey, and the TurboExpress was just plain obscure.
Before the Gameboy, my friends and I were playing those Tiger handheld games, and we thought those were freaking awesome at the time.
God I remember loving those too, they were terrible 😑
Lynx wasn’t that bad, though. I remember playing Rampage on it, I think a puzzle or whatever it is where the ball just flies getting rid of blocks. GameBoy Color was also good when out in the sun so the sunlight pixels’ reflections bring out the color brightly. If I had the backlit model GB Advance SP I could make a call on it, but mine were front lit with a weird horizontal whiteness and it was harder to see then it made clear.
My grandma sent me the Sonic Tiger Electronic handheld one year for Christmas and my sister got the Little Mermaid one. My dad had a Metal Gear one that I borrowed from time to time.
@@ssmelche I had the 3 Tiger Sonic handhelds. I never really could quite figure out SpinBall, though, even the console game how to advance levels because it seemed like each were connected somehow. Maybe I’m wrong there…..
I had friends who had the Lynx and the TurboExpress back then. They’d let me borrow them 🐔
I'm really digging these historic console commentaries. Watched it the initial release and watching it again. Love it
Thanks, Rich. The original Game Boy doesn't get enough attention, it was such a breakthrough system and amazing to have back in the day. It deserves a lot of love, especially from Nintendo themselves (hint hint GB on NSO).
The screen on it wasn’t the best until Pocket. Even Color while maybe not the sharpest, its sunlight pixelations were amazing.
@@DaveGX I played all my Game Boy games on my Super Gameboy
@@xenos_n. I had that, too. There was actually also a Nintendo 64 converter, but I never tried it, other than the GameBoy Player for GameCube which I had.
I started my Game Boy journey with the GBC in the late 90s. Had one of the purple (non-translucent) models and got SMB Deluxe with it. Don't have it anymore unfortunately, terminals got corroded so I ended up giving it away. Still have my og DS though.
RepostTechUSA 🤑
Rich tomorrow: posting the same video again.
Lowcowusa
I still have my original 1989 Gameboy. I also have 2 Gameboy lights that I bought while in Japan.
Wasn't this already posted?
It was
Yea. I just watched it a couple days ago
🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
Yes it was but he accidentally uploaded it early
yes but now it's time for the power chicken move
This video definitely takes me back.
I got the original Game Boy as a Christmas present back 1990 when I was 5-years-old from my Aunt who unfortunately passed away a couple of years ago after an almost 20 year on-and-off again fight with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. It became a running joke in the family that she was my favorite Aunt because of the gift she gave me.
It came with Tetris, and she got me Super Mario Land and Balloon Kid. I still have the system today and it still works great despite it's age since I try to take care of all the games and systems I own. I still remember journeying through Mario Land 2, swapping sweets in Yoshi's Cookie, and I'm sure I don't need to tell anyone about the popularity of Pokemon.
Thanks for an awesome vid Rich. I've been watching your stuff for a few years and this definitely one the best vids you've put out in a while. Stay awesome man.
Man, i am really impressed! This nostalgic documentary style was really a nice watch! Great to see how ur videos have come so far
Keep it up!
I would love to see a lot more content like this.
How is this premiering again? Wasn't this already posted? 🤔
Lowcow at his best
He was meant to upload it on Thursday but he accidentally uploaded it early
@@alex29971 lies it didn’t get good views so he is going to repost it
30 seconds in and I gotta tell you.... this is some your best work that I've seen.
Ah, yes, the vintage but legendary handheld that started the dominance of such pocket consoles ever since, debuting Kirby and Pokémon as well.
Why do people not watch quality content when someone clearly put in actually effort through sheer passion?!
This was amazeballs!
👍 keep up all the killer content. OMG I remember unboxing my OG game boy after getting it out of layaway at Walmart. What a glorious day!!!
Great video! Definitely feel the nostalgia for the Game Boy, but the Analogue Pocket has reignited my love for the system. Would love to see more of these types of videos from you!
Definitely a nice change of pace Rich, I loved it!
Great job! You do this style of video quite well
Love this style of video! Nice one!
Canada Jay, hats off to the editor ! Great job, and wonderful choice of background music.
I loved the GameBoy and this was such a great video covering it. This is why I'm subbed.
Fun video Rich! Brought back many happy childhood memories. Have a nice weekend )!
I love it Rich! I love these kinds of videos from
You I really hope you can make more of these
OMG, I LOVE this Gameboy Retrospective, please do more of these Rich!👌🏻💯😁
That was such a great video! I hope you do more like this in the future, great entertainment.
This is a great video; thanks for sharing RT-USA
Nice video, I like the change of pace.
Phenomenal video! Both you (Rich) and Jay have outdone yourselves!
This is Rich reviewing tech in the USA
I was here when Rich Reviewed Tech in the USA
This was an absolutely amazing video. You should do more of them!!
I love that you are trying new things with this documental style format
Your best vid in a long while.
Nice memories, I remember buying my first console as a kid, a Gameboy in its launch year. I sold it years later for a Sega Game Gear, was a mistake.
But luckily swapped that Game Gear with a friend for another Game Boy a few years later. So my kids get to play Tetris, Mario etc and I get my nostalgia.
Way to make me feel old, Rich. ;) Great work mate.
Tetris was hugely addicted. It's a gamers crack
Thank you for the superb retrospective.
Fantastic video, Rich. I never had the original Gameboy, but I still have the SP I had when I was a kid.
love this style, good video.
Omg I remember playing the Gameboy in the car as a kid, and playing it by using the street lamps and gas station lights at night, haha…good times!😁
amazing video. great b-roll
I have seen many Game Boy Vids but this one put the highest selling games into perspective comparatively to the Gameboys counterpart, the nes
I didn't know how popular Super Mario Land was until this video.
Thank you Daddy for another good video!
Loved the video Rich. The original Gameboy will always be very nostalgic for me.
Fantastic production quality. Made me miss my gameboy!
As a kid, Alleyway was amazing though. I played it way too much.
Same
LowSpecGamer has the best history of the gameboy, covering Gameboy, Gameboy pocket and Gameboy colour.
They changed the 1up mushroom in Mario Land to a heart because, since there was no colour and low resolution, you wouldn't have been able to tell it from the regular Super Mushroom that makes you big.
rick I don't say much on this channel but this was awesome great work I would love to see some more stuff from you with this amount of effort put in.
such a awesome video rich i could tell you and your editor put a lot of hard work into it and i hope it pays off.
Nostalgia bliss. Thank you!
Awesome video!
Love this video 👌
Please do make more of these retrospectives into other consoles and their launch games as well! (Already commented this on original vid that got deleted, but I reall want Rich to do more of these!)
I love these retrospect videos
Loved this
I don't know why it took me so long to check out this video, but I'm glad I finally did. If this is the direction of the channel going forward, I'm on board.
The packaged original Game Boy earbuds were also Red and Blue, the same as the Switch Joycons
Your opening narrating is great!
Super Breakout/BattleZone is the best Gameboy game. My first portable system was the Gameboy Color together with Pokémon Gold.
I have so many memories of the Gameboy. I remember going to the local flea market with my dad to pick out games like Gargoyles Quest and Mortal Kombat. After my first Gameboy started to show it's age I got a new one with a copy of Killer Instinct which was incredible for the technology limitations.
I guess roosters like Tech too (Nice touch). Awesome retropic video. As Always, Be Smart and Stay Safe.
Great video Rich. 👍👍👍
Great job on the video
Wait a minute wasn't this already posted?
This video is great and deserves way more views.
I hope you will talk about another handheld gaming device in your next video. I had a gameboy color when I was a little boy. So this video was so entertaining. Always a great idea to have two Different kinds of videos on your channel, if you ask me ;)
Loved the vid
Nostalgic bird breast 🥃🐦
Y'all did great with this video. Love it!
great video!!!
LOVE THIS i had one at 7 years old 1997 and got the color as well the first time posted i still live this video days ago
I remember opening up that styrofoam box and being blown away. My pops put Velcro on the wall above an outlet by the TV, and on the back of the "Brick" for a nice addition to our CRT + NES gaming station... Mostly so I didn't loose it lol.
I liked the Virtual Boy more than any other Nintendo system, just had to put that out there.
I feel like the title should be something like why gameboy got us to where we are, history style but man dose this video need more views!!!!
Rich Tomorrow: The Ultamite Bird Retrospective.
Hey Rich! I don't know if you'll ever see this comment, but this video was absolutely amazing. I've been a follower for years and this is one of the best (if not the best) video you put out. Don't get discouraged with the views on this one. I would love to see more material in this format. I know it takes time and effort, but I think you got something really good here. I would love to see a video like this on the PS5, Switch, or other tech you have laying around. You can make great stuff, especially with your good humor. This was amazing, man!
Even though views are lower than the Wii U video, please continue to do these type of videos on occasion. Evergreen content, the views will come eventually.
The gameboy is still so important that Elden Ring got a Gameboy styled demake as a quick little project just for fun.
I loved this hand held
Amazing video
Great video
I remember u boxing my new GameBoy - it was such a joy. My first games were of course Tetris, Super Mario Land and Super Mario Tennis.. some of my favorite games were Batman, Nintendo World Cup, Motocross Maniacs, Contra and Balloon Kid. Good times. Now I'm 41 and I still occasionally play these games on my retro (odroid) system.
Fantastic video, Rich. The GameBoy was my first Nintendo console. I loved it so much even though I was a Sega fan😂 It's interesting to see just how much Nintendo used the appeal of Mario to sell GameBoy consoles
Good review
awesome!!
Dude this was awesome. I got my Gameboy color kiwi 🥝 in 1999. I didn’t get the gba until 2006 for Christmas. The Gameboy color I still collect for.
it is really refreshing to hear a review on retrotech, done by a person that actually played it when it was new.
He needs to do more videos like this.
nicely done
Cool! Love me some Game Boy! 👍
This video really should have more views!
Oh boy I get to comment again on another Tech Retrospective! though this time is on a video I've already seen! Still more of these videos RICH!!!! REVIEW DAT TECH!!!!! WITH BIRDS!!!!!!!!
