I find a no 6 stotz lightly nipped on the hooklegnth and buried in the bait helps the wafter stay intact on the dinner plate, they are line friendly as of course they are used on pole rigs

Hi Rob l don't do a lot of match fishing but l do pleasure fish a local carp pool and am looking to buy a new rod. As its for mainly pleasure sessions landing fish at speed is not a priority l was wondering if the Free Spirit Feederlite might be a good choice for me . The carp are around 3lb to 7lb with the odd lump to double figures . Do you think the feederlite would be a good choice? l love the soft action on the 10' l checked out but the salesman said l'd be better off with the carp feeder ctx. What do you think? l would be able to use the feederlite for targeting the silvers ,ide and crucians too

Rob please can you tell me what landing net you're using , it looks quite shallow , I find most are too deep and I struggle to unhook the fish . Cheers Chris

It’s a middy supradry 20inch, they are great for smaller fish on commercials

Rob, why do you want the initial amount of pellets to stay in the feeder if you then clean them out before the next cast.

It’s not for speed it’s so there’s always some feed nearby the hookbait even if the top layer gets eaten

Rob, do you make the elasticated part yourself and how? The prefabricated ones are quite expensive..

The feeder comes with the elasticated stem but I change the elastic to be sure the knots are good

A spike. Loads better than a band for wowsers

How do u soak ur pellets how many minutes?

I add around half a pint of water to a pint of pellets and leave them to soak for half an hour or so
