My first visit to Earlswood Lakes and it won't be my last... This place is stuffed full of fish and even though the water temperature was freezing it was a bite every cast!!
Had one of me best days bream fishing there, on the damm wall in late nineties, using a swing tip, lol, remember them😁...
I remember getting in a tangle every cast using one when I was about ten
Well done zorro 👍
Great vid m8 lol your lad 🤣🙈🎣🎣🎣🐟
Great vid again Rob. Big George just needs some more coaching, but since your the best..... All the best for 2022.
Ha ha, cheers Erwin..... all the best to you mate
Lol your son reminds me of my lads got an answer for everything 🤣
He knows it all
Very informative Rob, great to see Earlswood after 40 years when I last fish it. Well done.
Cheers Geoff
Great vid, Rob. Nice to see Earleswood getting some well deserved publicity again. Next time try the boating lake for some brilliant bream and roach fishing. George, is one lucky lad having an England International teaching him. Hopefully, he won’t get too distracted by girls as he gets older as my kids did, lol.
Cheers John. I couldn’t believe how many fish were there
Well done Gordon lol bless him 😁
Great video Rob and George, loved the section where George was on the box... Nice job Zorro 🙌🏻

Great as usual Rob. I burst out laughing when he literally stood on his hands :))

Cheers Terry
I used to catch the train from Birmingham, and walk from the station, this was 1965!
‘Bill was the bailiff, came round on his bike, from the tackle shop that was to your right!
I never had a proper look around but next time I’m back I’ll deffo try and get a better feel for the place. Great venue
Well done George, must have been the biggest fish caught that day. Good video Rob. Nice to have a days fishing when it is cold and you get such results.
Cheers Peter 🎣
I remember when it was stocked with Carp the first time round. All the fish were about 1lb when they went in and were fantastic sport. A couple of years later I won a Junior Match there and all the Carp had already grown to 5lb. I might go there this winter to sample some of the action for old times sake. Great video.
A great place for bites Dick
Fantastic film rob and young zorro has a bright future with his dads help. Happy new year to you and your family and thank you for all your help through the EDGE this year. 👍👍👍👍
Thank you very much Stephen , good luck to you for the New Year
Well this place is going to be rammed this weekend lol! Nice video Rob.
I’ll be back so I hope it won’t be too busy
lovely f1s there Rob, and as you said what a place to fish looks brilliant, well filmed, tight lines for the new year,🎣
Thanks James👍
Hi Rob, next time , try fishing triple pinkie but leave them hanging out the feeder, you will find the bites come even quicker, hope your dad is well.
Tip to anyone fishing there for the first time, make sure your rod is secure, or it will be gone.
The old mans great Rich.... hope you’re good👍
Great to watch Rob!!!! Another top young angler on the way, Happy New Year
Cheers Michael
Subscribed! :-) Love these videos! Keep'em up! Tight lines!
Thank you 🎣
Zorro strike :-)... Nice vid!
Cheers Jimmy
Great info Rob as usual 👍Nice too see young George maybe following in your foot steps in being a great angler like his dad
Ha ha .... if we can get him off the computers
@@RobWootton that's kids of today Rob ha ha. When i was growing up only had Amstrad 64 PC. I would have rather get 1/2 pint maggots and go down to local canal for day
That was good rob
Like ya man said it's nice to see earlswood getting a mention
About the snag it could be the sandbank you was probably casting over it but great fishing earlswood is on way back 🐟🐟
Cheers Phillip..... Looking back I think it coudve been some dead reeds form when the water was lower
Nice video Rob 👍if your lad ends up any where near as good as you he’ll be pretty good 😎happy new year 👍
Thank you Richard, happy New Year
Amazing, your boy is so cute❤
Could you please share the info. of your landing net, it looks very well. Thank you in advance.
Great video Rob ;) Happy New Year
Thank you Frank .... happy new year to you 👍
Great watch Rob , wonder if they'll do a restocking at the other British waterways lakes ? Remember catching a ton of the daft newly stocked carp at boddington on baked beans .
Cheers Hemphead, I think they’ve been in earlswood a few years now, just neglected
@@RobWootton Ah I see , I thought they were new stock . This mild weather must be making them want to feed well .
Nice to see it re stocked after they emptied the place of all the monsters average used to be 10-15lb should have kept a few odd monsters to make it a bit more fun
I think there’s still the very odd big fish in there
When the pellet wag came out this was the 1st place I tryed it. O my god talk about hold on to your rod. This is wear it teaches you never put catapult down and take your eye off the rod. Superb video
Definitely going there again
The high number pegs were always the best . The other side were you was fishing rob
Rob great video. I notice you have your bait tray on the right hand side. Are you naturally left handed or do you find it easier on that side? Or is it just when you're filming? Thanks Steve
I can do either Steve but I prefer to load a feeder and bait a hook form my right and catapult/throw bait on my left...... i use to play cricket ..... bat left handed and bowl right handed 🤷♂️
@@RobWootton thanks Rob I might give it a try myself
Another 6000lb of F1s ( approx 7000 fish) stocked into Engine pool 21st January 2022, they will need a few days to settle in.
Top info Rich👍
@@RobWootton fishing a match on there Sunday, hopefully it's settled down again, get your Dad up there Rob.
Rob which we're lake we're you fishing please? 3 on the venue. Not so much for me as I'm very unlikely to get there but others will benefit cheers Jon
He was fishing Engine pool, peg 4, but you can obtain a good weight from most pegs.
@@richgreasley3458 cheers rich hopefully that'll help others 👍
whats the rod name? i am not from UK so your accent is a little bit hard to understand :) great vids. I love to catch crusian carp here in Serbia
Reactacore xz from Middy
@@RobWootton thank you
What peg was you fishing
Hi rob, I have got permission to fish a farmers pond fall of wild carp and golden rudd ,when I hook a carp they go crazy ,there is only me can fish this pond, I get them on bomb and corn how can I stop them from tearing off any advice.
Not sure David apart from using heavier gear and holding on tighter.... Sounds a great place to fish though
Hi Rob just a question. You said when loading up the feeder you put some pellets in first ,then the hook bait..So when released from the mould, the hook baits in the middle. So I'm sure Joe carass. In one of his vids he put the bait in first then the pellets so the hook bait on top when released from mould.
I'm sure it was an underwater vid too.
I can see the thinking behind this to allow the fish to get your hook bait first.
But it never made know difference to you here.
What's your opinion on that.
I’ll do a video on it but for me it depends on how the fish are feeding....not many fish and you can bury the bait as you’re setting the perfect trap that won’t get disturbed.... loads of fish around the feeder and I think the hook bait gets moved around anyway so it doesn’t matter too much where you place it.
Hi Kevin. Joe's video was actually him putting the pellets in the mould first then the hookbait, which put the hookbait in the middle or bottom of the feeder. He was testing against the common theory of putting the hookbait partially or even fully visible on a loaded feeder.
Nice video , will try earlswood next time I'm in the midlands is your reel noisey or os it just an over sensitive mic ?
It might be my fingers hitting the spool as I back wind ...... the reel is right next to the mic though
Hi rob. on your previous upload u had a red quiver tip for your 10ft6 rod. I have two off these rods and only have a white and green tip and not seen a red quiver tip. What size was it and is it available. Many thanks.
I actually broke the white on that came with the rod but found one of the same strength that fitted nicely. The white would be my choice ....I need to get another spare.
@@RobWootton thanks for the reply rob
Hi Rob. Is this the old carp lake or windmill lake ????
Pretty sure I was in the engine pool
Hi Rob, what lake at Earlswood were you fishing (Windmill, Engine or the other pool)? Also do you ever trim down your bayonet length, reducing its weight and ensuring your bait wafts?
I don’t bother trimming the bayonet... I’ve tried but found it made hardly any difference.... pretty sure I was on the engine pool
