When my oldest son began talking, one of the first things he tried to convey to me and his mother was he remembered being shown us before he was born. It was important to him that he communicate that to us for some reason. Now I know, after listening to you, what it was he wanted us to know. Thank you Rabbi. I didn't know you 2 weeks ago, and now you are very important to me spiritually.

I don’t agree with this version of the account in Eden at the so called deeper level. It comes across as a distortion of the image of God the creator who said that what he had created was good. The god presented in this account is a dishonest god full of guile and trickery. We were never meant to Die but because of the error of our parents we die. Don’t believe everything you hear even from a someone who claims to possess deeper knowledge. We are in the last days. Test every spirit!

I like rabbi Friedman's teachings, but I can't swallow the timeline being proposed here. Are we saying he didn't even start of to naming the animals, plants and other creation? He didn't get off to tending the garden? Didn't the Torah say God came in the cool of the evenings? And on the day Adam sinned, God returned in the cool of the evening. One thing I love about Judaism is that we are allowed to have questions and ask them. That way we are safe from human control through doctrines.

Tradition repeatedly shows or mentions the apple. Yet, the first indication of a specific fruit mentions the leaves of a fig tree sewn together to hide their nakedness. Odd how they hid their nakedness with fig leaves. Adam and Eve clothed themselves with fig leaves. Later Hashem clothed Adam and Eve in skins sending them out of the garden.

And he missed out all the rest God said like ”And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”“
      ‭‭Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭15‬ ‭

In my opinion: The numeration might resemble how a schizophrenics want to know dates & times. If all decended from ADAM & EVE than we shouldn't be that dis-similar being only Black people & black generations only get sickle cell anemia. And the sectionalised brown eyes of so many other zoological racial groups (non-White/non-Hispanic). We wouldn't be all the same according to science.
The Jewish people have seasons of time when it's appropriate to harvest crops. This story could speak to eating non-kosherly off season against the law.
Kabbalah has no place in this story either that would be more towards a linguistical gramation. When adding Kabbalah to the story, we have material boundaries that philosophy would struggle hard to cross over.
If you change history, you molest identity. Although there would be truth in numbers, there's also anomalies of limitations even in numbers.
Nobody holds knowledge of good/evil. We do what we do & the results determine the value of our deeds. Even good intentions pave the highway to Hell. Evil would do the better good according to the Jeremiahic philosophy.
Well the Nazis changed that with their murder camps so who are we supposed to believe? Do Jewish people not drive Mercedes-Benzes? Was that the value of profound evil? I would say absolutely not.
What about the Jeremiahic way of enoblement? For an expensive luxury sport car? No way.
We can only do our best because even righteous intentions culminate sin even with the best intentions. That's where mercy & forgiveness factor in. Not to withhold judgment, but to work out the bugs.
      That's faith bro.
On a different note, the Maccabean uprise converted the Torah back to its historical Hebrew perhaps with more meaning justifying the retranslated serving the Maccabean nationalist movement before the 2st Roman uprise.
Genesis would be more of a theory until some archaeological evidence pops up. We can safely say the Exodus, a great flood & Jusus happened with certainty.
It would be highly improbable the Tower of Babel would have occurred towards the metaphysical diversity of toungs being they would have serious problems breathing at extreme altitude while laboring the construction. Also where's the tower at? In that area of the world, people build over top of old stuff. It should still be somewhere over there laying around/ buried. Some of the story seems plausible as other areas seem imaginative. Probably best not to put G-d to test regardless of the story.
So when was Genisis made? It seems to have a lot of Greek sauce in the man mix.

An hour later Adam and Eve procreated. God made us with free will. With free will comes consequences. Early procreation to ease the pains of childhoods leads to quarrels later on, in a couples relationship. The solution for humanity is marry and procreate in the right time. Heal first the childhood pains and traumas and gather resources for simple living. Being aware of the simple need of the body for survival, humans should seek higher intellect of the nature of the universe to connect to higher dimensions and spaces. Humans should seek higher intellect that make him live longer not for selfish reasons for surviving on earth but on other dimensions of the Universe.

I had arrived at the same understanding of the garden episode via studying tbe Kabbalah. It is also worth mentioning although it might seem strange to those who are used to a linear sense of time, thst tbe entire drama of tbe garden of Eden takes place on day six, and that the exile, or descent, is a fall 'deeper' into day six. The seventh day is, of course, inaccessible to man. The tree of KNOWLEDGE of good and evil, this is man trapped between pairs of opposites and this binary 'push and pull' is a property of the moon, and is also a quality of Day Six. So the fall is not only a fall into a heavier physical state of mortality under tbe weight of temporal law, but is also a fall deeper into TIME, like a self devouring cycle. It is THIS that the Divine prescence is destined to unravel and atone with the ALL..
Just thought I would throw that in, because I think many people are baffled by the seven days because of the assumption that they denote a linear span of time, whereas they are more like distinct realms of action.

...just like the story of Pandora's box.
Eve was told not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil.
Pandora was told not to open the box.
What happened as a result in both instances?
    Downfall.
    Patterns throughout history.

It's unfortunate that he failed to mention that Adam harkened unto the voice of his wife and did eat from the wrong tree. Somehow, she convinced him with her words after she ate.

What if Adam and Eve existed only as souls in the garden of eden where All things were also made of light except for the tree of knowledge? All the other trees would produce divine fruit (beyond physical senses). However the physical apple from the tree of knowledge once eaten, awakened them to earthly/physical senses. So it was "Taste" that aroused their curiousity and they were bound to awaken other desires as well. This was inevitable and a game created by God. Why would God place the tree of knowledge in garden of Eden in the first place? Adam and Eve were new souls without experience and bound to eat the Apple eventually.
The answer is that Adam and Eve were made in the image of God and of the same essence: Children of God. But they were void of Wisdom. They had as much potential to do good as doing evil. It was not their destiny to be in garden of Eden for eternity. Their/our destiny is to be with God. What would hold them/us back is the potential to do bad and cause suffering. There is no suffering where God is. Therefore, Adam and Eve and their children needed experience to gain wisdom that would prevent them from causing suffering. They were sent to earth in to the physical body to gain that wisdom and ascend to be with God. This body and world is a simulation made by God and once we're Godly, we are awakened from it and take our rightful place beside God.

Where does this extra knowledge come from? Surely if The Creator God wanted us to know more He would have told His servant Moses to record it in the Torah. If you have itching ears and satan is ready to oblige with His lies, Like when he said to Eve" Gen 3:5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.... Did God tell her Adam that? No. Satan tells his servants to tell people things that God did not give permission to say... But knowledge puffs up, and plays its part of the sin of pride. All who pay heed, to this added info other than what is written, will be like Eve, you will be deceived putting yourself in danger of eternal death, and vulnerable to accepting more satan inspired lies. .....Jer_27:15 For I have not sent them," says the LORD, "yet they prophesy a lie in My name, that I may drive you out, and that you may perish, you and the prophets who prophesy to you."

Do not consume....eat is consuming which is not the same as eating food
Yin and Yang,we all contain these dark and light energies, just don't be consumed by them
The Adam and Eve and tree thing is more symbolic representation, with the Sephardic tree
A tree is also three things as representative of the root, opening up the trunk to a passage and the end result which is leaves (knowledge) and fruit which comes from the entirety

I wonder how Adam and Eve felt being disconnected from god after the exclusion from the garden Eden. How much must this have hurt their souls, losing the amazing grace and aura of god?
Losing gods almighty and overall pleasuring presence is way harder than to die - at least than to die in our world - I guess.
But maybe this was ment by god, when god said to Adam that he and Eve will die...................................................................................................................................................

Do you assume wearing a black robe allows you to make up stories? God created the world for his pleasure (Isaiah 46:10), to be inhabited (Isaiah 45:18). You say there was a man and a woman in heaven when God made the Earth, what proof have you? God himself says there were a whole host of 'sons of God' watching him create the earth (Job 38:7), but there is no mention of the 'daughters of God' anywhere in the Old Testament. The bible tells an inspiring story on its own, you do not need to make up your own stories to puff up your importance.
God never asked the Hebrews to make the world holy, He asked them to become holy themselves because He, their God, is holy (Leviticus 11:45). To say God created a world that needed repair is blasphemy, you should be ashamed.
