I just got accepted into NYU SPS with ED2. I’ll list out some stats as well. GPA: 3.6 (i have 4 C+) SAT: not taken English exam(for international students): Duolingo english exam 155 Extra curriculars: Fencing athlete & coach: g3~g12 (Few regional gold medals) Alpine skiing athlete & coach: g1~g12 (Few regional gold medals) School varsity ski team captain(since g10) (And 5 medals with them) Overall, my grades are horrible but I got in due to my extracurriculars. Can you please make a video talking about certain tips that can get us into NYU? I’m currently a sophomore in high school and I REALLY want to go to NYU!!! I don’t feel like I’m doing enough though? Thanks!

I’m in a couple of different clubs. I play lacrosse. The clubs I’m in are key club which is a service hours club. And deca which is a business club. Then dawgathon which is a club where we help raise money for a children’s hospital. And msa which is a muslim club. I did an internship summer of my sophomore year and plan doing more things in the future.

you'll never ever get there because you're doubting yourself. you're an entitled person. an entitled person is not just a person who feels more superior to others. but that others are more superior than them and therefore deserve to be treated differently. Hi NYU is my dream school, and I’d love nothing more than to be there. The only problem is, my gpa is a lot lower than the accepted standard due to some personal issues I had (even though I had a massive upward trend). However my SAT and ACT are perfect and I have strong extracurriculars. Do u think NYU would be willing to look past my grades if every other aspect of my application is very strong?
Yes! On the Common App, they will ask you if you would like to explain any circumstances that has had an impact on your grades or academic performance (this answer will go to all of the schools that you will apply to on the Common App). Use that space to explain your situation. If you have strong SAT or ACT scores, I highly recommend you to report them because it will show NYU that even though your GPA has taken a dip, you are still college-ready and a viable candidate for NYU admission. SAT/ACT scores can help you stand out in the pool. Make sure you have great recommendation letters, extracurricular and a strong essay (very important!!). Good luck!
I didnt get to do many ecs as there's no such thing in my school which is a pretty small one in a small town I was thinking about a gap year so that i get time to work on myself Do you think it'll affect my chances to get into nyu?
I got in and I firmly believe that it was due to my essays. They really take it in consideration.
