Dexter Avenue, Detroit, summer 1982. The girl I had a crush on didn't know I existed, but she and her sisters roller skated to this song all day and had my heart fluttering.
Dany 53 ans
Wow we just saw her yesterday!!!! She waved to my husband and he told me she used to sing this song, small world sometimes. Forgot all about this song, me and my sister used to like this when we were little lol.
Love this song, that bass line is *chefs kiss* 💋. This and Wishing Well by Terrence Trent Darby. When I play both songs people say…wow, I love that song. Yet both kind of hang in obscurity. 🤷 I’m a 64 year old white guy, military vet.
I was looking for this song from the old days, and kept getting a different, more jazzier version, but this is the one that I remember, great tune, the other must be a remix, this is old skool gold.
Wow! I truly used to love this song Now while listening to it brings back a whole lot of memories in Indy 1982 right after I graduated from Ben Davis HS and I joined the Marines
Just found out that that this song "...reached the top spot in May 1982 and stayed there for three weeks." Who knew? I always thought this song was popular a year later or toward the end of '82. That's what old age does. Many songs like that which I always thought came out way later than they actually were released.
AuntieSouL1 at it again, always the best version of everything. Damn you know how to make me reminisce. Great minds think alike, you know we got ESPN, lol....
Heard the track on FM and did the Shazam thing to find out what it was. That led me to this. Radio play is 3 minutes this goes more than 6 just like live on the dance floor back in the day. Thanks Auntie...Its great!
I LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Added to my Club Classics playlist here on RUclips - check that out for some rarities, mainly from the dance floors of the 70s and 80s - often wonder if, when the chorus comes on, how many DJs thought that they were playing it at the wrong speed!

Thank's for sharing this Classic, AuntieSoul1!!! I Really Appreciate it!!! I Love Cheri's Murphy's Law!!! Cheri Has a Great Voice & the Lyric's Are So True!!! It's All About, Karma!!! This Is Old School At It's Best!!! AuntiSoul1, I've got a few question's - maybe you can help me, Please!!! Who is the other Woman with Cheri & did Cheri have any other good song's??? Plus, Whatever Happened to Her??? She was So Underrated & Not Appreciated As Much as She should Have Been!!!
"Cheri" was actually the name of the group. Roz Hunt is on the left, and Lyn Culiere is on the right. Roz is the daughter of Geraldine Hunt, who had a hit in 1980 with "Don't Fight The Feeling." After "Murphy's Law,' Lyn was replaced by Amy Roslyn, and they released another album in 1983 titled "Love Stew." I think Roz still does backup vocal work, and Amy still sings in nightclubs.
I hate to tell you But I got a bit of bad news I don't love you no more You see life is like a circle Everything you do Comes back to you Murphy's Law Sure out to get you Murphy's Law Sure out to get you You know the car You missed the last payment The finance company came and Towed it away, towed it away And the money that you Owe to your best friend You don't owe him no more Cause the ring that you Bought me for my birthday I cashed it in at the store You know the girl that You've been fooling around with She got married today What happened to Your brand new hi-fi Someone took it away

But I got a bit of bad news
I don't love you no more
You see life is like a circle
Everything you do
Comes back to you
Murphy's Law
Sure out to get you
Murphy's Law
Sure out to get you
You know the car
You missed the last payment
The finance company came and
Towed it away, towed it away
And the money that you
Owe to your best friend
You don't owe him no more
Cause the ring that you
Bought me for my birthday
I cashed it in at the store
You know the girl that
You've been fooling around with
She got married today
What happened to
Your brand new hi-fi
Someone took it away
Great Verse

Same. When I was searching a couple years ago, it was hard to find this one.
