I had a friend who was 19 when the cancer took him. We all who were his friends/classmates were shocked, first time we met that death doesn’t sort. It was 5 years ago, and I still think of him when I hear a song about death and loss. He was his parents only child, idk how I could handle it, but they super strong and now help others in life. Amazing song btw.
As a parent to two young kids this is one of my biggest fears. When I saw the debut a few days ago I was hyped for new Ov Sulfur, then balled my eyes out for an hour after watching the video. Ricky's mix of cleans and Chase's guitar tone just really pull you into the emotion of the lyrics on top of the insane video production. This was one of the questions I asked constantly when I started questioning religion in my teen years, only to get the same answer "God tests us in our faith", and ultimately one of the reasons I walked away and never looked back. Can't wait for the album, already have it pre-ordered on vinyl, but damn this song is gonna get me every time I hear it.
Had a tumor in my shoulder which was cancerous. Had it surgically removed and am 3 years in out of 5 on the path to being cancer free. This really hits.
I lost my father in law to cancer, and while it was hard, the hardest part was watching my wife have to lose her father. This song pretty well expresses the emotions you feel through this crap we have to deal with. I hope we can find a cure one day.

This ripped my fucking heart out. My partner and I are having our first child (a boy) next thursday. I hope with all that I have to never experience this kind of pain. My heart breaks for Ricky and his family.

My ma got diagnosed with brain n lung cancer July 28th 22 n she only made it to September 10th 22 it was so brutal to see. To watch a kid go thru that is so heartbreaking

This was a powerful song it was hard to watch but it needed to be made.I’ve watched family members suffer and wither away to nothing from the chemo and cancer eating them away.I agree parents should never have to bury a child from this or any kind of disease.
