Finally a straight forward and simple answer for this! So many garbage videos and videos that are too expansive. Thank you for sharing concise and easy to understand content!
“Knot” a fisherman’s knot because it’s “knot” fishing tackle, it’s “knot” being used for fishing in this context, and a fisherman’s knot is typically 5-6 wraps, “knot” two, in any context… And if you really wanna get technical a Fisherman’s knot is actually an “improved clinch” knot… “knot” to mention typically limited to under 20 pound test.
1. He used three loops on the other side instead of two loops 2. Cant hardly see what's going on with the guys sausage fingers in the way 3. Too fast got to slow it down for a dummy like me lol.
Two reasons: First, esthetically the triple fisherman's knot, shown here, is more attractive & the working ends end exit parallel to the line, which could be taped-off with white electrical tape for an even more professional finish. Second, there is no need for an easy un-tie knot, here. It stays tied until the rope is replaced. BTW, the Zeppelin Bend is my favorite but it's not the best choice in all cases.
there are six knots you need to secure the rope sine I am an Eagle I know all of them. The first is the classic Square Knot after you pull the old rope out you need to secure the ends with a square knot while it is on the ground. the second is a double square knot also called a fishing knot this makes sure it does not come unhooked. the third is a trucker hitch you use this to secure the knot as a safety. the final three knots are used to secure the clips the first clip you use a bowline the second a timber hitch and you use a taunt line to straighten everything up until you can bind the rope. you repeat if you have a second flag. once you have the rope secure you splice above the knot and wrap it in tape then you burn it to secure it to the pole.
I get where you’re coming from. I think a square knot would hold just fine. I think this is just a more clean way to splice it. I’m guessing this method may be easier in the long term if you wanted to undo it.

This was so easy...watched another one telling you to wrap around your thumbs, slide it under the thumb....YIKES! This was easy peasy! Thank you!
Thank you! perfect video. Exactly what I needed
Todos los septiembre vengo a ver este video para recordar cómo se hace y un año después se me vuelve a olvidar.
Took me a couple of tries but I got it. Thanks for this video.
Had a rope failure a few months ago because the original rigging did not use this knot. Just got it rigged up properly and this knot made it easy!
It took a few months to learn how to tie it properly....😳
@@billyking7372yeah smart ass do u live in a windy location? 10mph sustained winds minimum every single day? Do u fly 2 flags on the same pole?
Thanks! Nice video. Just what I needed...
Be nice if you kept your fingers out of the way. Great view from your eyes, but the view was obstructed.
Google the uni-knot or fisherman’s knot. It’s a simple variation of that knot.
Very good video
Just wanted to say thanks - could not recall how to tie this one. Took me a few tries, but got it - thanks!

It's called a double-fisherman's knot here in England.
Alfie Bell
That's what it's called in the US too.
Thanks for keeping it quick!!!!!!!!
what position should the knot be, relative to the flag?
In the middle of the flag, this way it never interferes with raising or lowering no matter how the flagpole is rigged.
A stand for America
Looks like a double fisherman's knot to me.
Thanks for,the help!
Thank you
Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much for such great, informative videos. Also would love to know what is that song played through the video? It is such a beautiful song.
raghav
very helpful, thanks!
this is absolutely infuriating. i am about to throw my flag pole like a fn javelin

Watch the video several times, and try tying the knot until you get it.
Slow video down to quarter speed
Watch it a bunch of times till you can do it. It isn’t hard.
How about when you need to undo the knot?
Congratulations...you re-invented the Fisherman's Knot.

Good job keeping your hands in the way the whole time
This is called a Double Fisherman's Knot. Here is an animated visual: ruclips.net/video/O6oJwedcb18/видео.html
Thanks! They broke it down, Barney-Style!
Where is this store
It's almost like a Fisherman's Knot, but it's Thicker
Why not just tie a Zeppelin Bend? It's just as secure, and you can actually untie it even after it has been reefed on by the wind etc.

This is like trying to cut your own hair in the mirror. The video would be a lot more helpful as a POV.
Z
I already do that, free crew cuts. 😂
Its called a Double Fisherman's Knot
Simply search up fisherman's knot if u cant understand this ....
Fishermans' Knot!
Is this the same as a uni to uni knot ?
It's that simple

i'd like to know how this knot would compare to a square knot in the same situation
Square? No.

Basically, a fisherman's knot.
Slow down and zoom in!!!
Double Fisherman's Bend
Jai Shree Mahakal Ji 🙏🙏🙏🙏

OK, I watched this about 8x already. I'm just not getting it. This dude is going way too fast
I am sure this is a great way to tie the rope but your hands are hiding everything, sorry doesn't seem to be working for me
Then what?
Ahh where is the flag and how do u put it on with the knot. Poor video.
You need to watch the other videos.
😂
I obviously have not had enough to drink yet....try again later.
You pinched your finger Ouch! 😩
Couldnt follow
I've tried 100 times, I'd pay someone $100 to come do mine
Am I the only one here that thinks this was not close up and done too fast? Had to dislike video.
206 people gave this a thumbs down
What!? Why?? XD
This is the worst explanatory video I've ever seen
