- Lagos holds records in Africa when it comes to infrastructure like the third mainland bridge which is the longest bridge in West Africa, there are several other bridges, But in this video, we will explore how the first stable link bridge (Lekki - Ikoyi) was constructed by Julius Berger
Lekki - Ikoyi link bridge represents west Africa’ first cable stayed link bridge embedded in Lagos lagoon, it is now seen as a new land megalopolis a sign of development, growth, and progress in Lagos Nigeria
the cost of this construction was 29,000,000,000 i.e 725million dollar. the plan to recover this fund was to charge a toll fee from users of this bridge starting from 300 Naira for salon cars
There is a toll gate almost at the tail end of the bridge called the admiralty circle toll plaza. It is roughly estimated that the Admiralty Circle Toll Plaza yields an average of N30m per day, 81k which if continued for thirty years from 2012, will translate into N330bn. 825m dollars This is excluding other revenues accruing from advertisements and consent.

@@chigozieamazu7291 I am sure they will appreciate it if you build one for them or better still build one in your village so that Lagos State can learn from you.
Nigeria is, was and always will be there.
Amen oh
@@AuntieCheri thank you darling

Rick Can't Trade I do love peace.🤔
Hmm. . interesting.
This is fabulous. Well done. Please do a similar video on the 2nd Niger Bridge currently being constructed by Julius Berger.
@@bendedstraw4294, shallow minded..
Steve is what you called omo igbo born and will never leave to the east.
Julius Berger firm did a tremendous job !! Congrats 🎉🍾
That bridge is an example of what Africa can do when they decide. Kudos to Nigeria.

Wow
Cool bridge, and excelet video too! Nice to see that Africa develops.
The bridge operating company should some time clean the pylon. It is geting dirty, and don't look soo apealing, and i don't think that cleaning wolud be too pricey.
Ok

Nice presentation as usual.
Try and get your currency exchange figures correct
Wonderful project in nigerians no man"s Land state, lagos State.
Is like you're mad? What do you mean by no man's land?
@@Emmanuel-pu7dz woe betide u. GOAT
I don't understand how you arrived at 700 million dollars from 29 billion Naira. At what exchange rate?
Well done. Nice concept. But which one is it. Your in-video caption says 290 billion bridge while the video description say 29 billion. I understand this might be typographical error, but the correct information still need to be stated.
It’s a mistake, thanks for bringing my attention to it
You still haven't stated the correct figure
BIGO live back seat is back and real
29 billion naira is 76million dollars not 750 million dollars. That's insane
Nigeria, building a bridge is one thing, maintaining it is another, we do not want to hear about records.....in 20 year's time we will see.
I beg go sit down. There are 30,000 bridges across the US that are due for repairs and have not been rapaired for lack of funds (Source: US Civil Engineering Soceity). There have bridge collapse in Italy, Minneapolis, US and other advanced countries.
Be positive, please.
The bridge is properly maintained
@@kolajames-idowu2552 some pple have not travelled even to cotonou o, but they know everything happening abroad, dont mind ode, awon were. Just leave them alone.
Do you know when some of the bridges were build?
It's N29 Billion, not N290 Billion.
Nice video and well packaged, however please check your currency conversions. At about 165 naira to a dollar, 29bn comes to about $175m
Thank you
Yinka bureau d change
@Rick Can't Trade an you please shuy up, ah! Someone has corrected him and he said tnx, u can stfu now ok? Sabina nwa njokwu.
Security
This bridge isn't a cable suspension bridge.
Those cables are deceptive. The bridge is sitting on concrete pile foundations
Over sabi and jealousy will kill some pple.
Even Cable bridge have concrete platforms
Nooo... The bridge cost 29 Billion according to LASG which was even considered controversial.. Not 290 Billion. Ok, the thumbnail had the wrong figure.
This is never going to solve the problem. They should be spending the money on repairing and rebuilding collapsing infrastructure.
Nigeria will build the bridge but there won't be upkeep and maintenance done.
Well there was a toll gate at one end of the bridge, which was helping to maintain the bridge and repay the huge cost accrued to build it!
But during the EndSars crises, mad Nigerians sacked and thrashed the infrastructure!
We get head so ??
@@aframaco9491 The money made from that toll gate must not be stolen then by corruption.

N29B??? Chai🤦♂️
Bridges are great but what about housing? What about infrastructure? Do you have 29,000,000,000 for that?
Bridges are part of Infastracture tho.
Ur figures are wrong 29billion is not up to 725million dolllars..
It was a mistake ... thanks for pointing it out

I think the Igbos builds all these structures in Lagos state. Lagos state, according to them, belongs to them as well. Truth is, they left their homeland to claim someone else, and you ask yourself, are they deluded? Why can they develop Southeast like Lagos, if indeed they develop Lagos? Besides being a former capital of Nigeria, why is it hard for the igbos to acknowledge the dominant owner of the state - the Yorubas? Recently, they are also critising the state government for allowing the use of Yorubas in the state. Why? Why are Igbos interested in the state where they clearly do not belong or have any relationship with the Yorubas? We can say thus well enough, Igbos should ceased investing in Lagos and SW. Develop your region and stay there so that Nigeria will come and enjoy Southeast too.

Jesus Christ! 29Billion??? That’s a complete rip off or should I said well hmm

With the resources Nigeria have, you guys are proud of this? Just a rural town in Holland is better and more beautiful than Lagos what a shame
Since you were born what have you contributed to this world? You're a shame on your family.
😂😂😂😭😭😭😭 you harsh I swear. The corruption that went down on this project, will blow your mind. Remember it is 🇳🇬 u r talking about here. Bridges & road building is essential part of a corrupt system.
Have you ever been to Holland in your life, see who's talking ur appearance look like a farmer
Michael Brown yes I do, I live in Leeuwarden Friesland, you don’t insult people
Raymand Doks what is your own contribution even to your family local people
Total waste of money. They can use this money to sort out electricity problems. Shame on Nigeria
Who told you they are not working on their electricity problem in Nigeria? Go and do your own research on issues. Someone did this video.
If all you pointed act about my emotions then I would be this enlightened to analysed the mistakes Lagos state is doing now. Get your facts right.
U are not civilised to know what I speak of. Watch the western world infrastructure pls.
@@jujumanayelala6291 You are very stupid my brother..... I guess you already know that
