I can understand your point, Ian, but these videos were filmed to help English language teachers, and the vast majority of them (more than 90%) don't speak English as a first language. Some of that 90% will have advanced English language skills, but many won't, and I wanted to reach as large an audience as possible. The intention wasn't to be patronising, and - to be honest - it is a lot more difficult to slow things down and simplify than it is to speak normally.
