Keke Rosberg was the street fighter of F1. 1982, he gave Gilles Villeneuve a good duel in Long Beach. In 1983, he dominated the Monaco GP. 1984, he took the one-and-only victory at the streets of Dallas. And 1985, he left everyone behind him in Detroit. All of them street tracks!
I get a lump in my throat and a tear on the corner of my eye, when watching old videos about Keijo Rosberg. No matter if he won only 5(GP) races, 6 overall. But he is a MAN! Keke and Gilles were tougher than their sons!
I will always rate Keke as one of the most charging and best drivers ever, even in Senna's time Keke always pushed him to the limit whenever he was in contention with. A real pity that he could not have fought for more titles. Really funny speach at the end of the video. By the way, what a dirty circuit or should I say dirty spectators !!!
I get a bit emotional too. After Alan Jones ( a fellow aussie ) won in 1980, channel 9 Australia finally decided to televise the grand prixs, and I gradually bonded with Rosberg. I remember being a nervous wreck by the time the last race came around in 1982.
I could be wrong but imo Senna and Keke were the fastest drivers of the 80's hands down. And Keke was the most imposing too which could be paradoxical but not in this case. :D :D :D
Keke , piloto estrategistas campeão com 1 vitória em 82. Hamilton com 10 vitórias perdeu um campeonato. F1 perdeu seu brilho, essa gurizada de agora não sabem pilotar.
It was the Motor City. The car capitol of the world back then. So it was fitting that the best motorsport be held in the motor city. It was a great weekend in downtown Detroit back then. Although the drivers did not like this track at all. They hated coming to Detroit due to that. The roads were so bad in downtown. Sadly it ended a few years after this in 1988 and later Cart, Indy car series took over at Belle Isle.

Good to see the tradition of FOM directors missing overtakes has passed down the generations

To me Keke was the most exciting charger of the 80's . And he rarely crashed
One of the Best ever
This is what I call man's formula one.
Did you see how keke left the pits... Mann i almost came in my pants 😂😂
K Rosberg était un spécialiste des circuits urbains.
Pilote spectaculaire mais au pilotage fiable.
Dallas 1984 et Detroit 85 reste des classiques
5:50 only the first two are alive today... 😲
Damn
rospöörg, no suomalaisille se o vua KEKE! :)
Paitsi kansainvälisille härmäläisille, kuten Timo T.A Mikkoselle soli "Kiik Rousböög" Ei saatana! 🤣
top keke
Don't forget Dallas 1984 as well
@Pece17 That IS James Hunt
Detroit is a far cry from Monaco. Litter in the radiators? America spares no expense!
Rosberg said that they shut the radio off because of the language he used. I wonder how explicit profanity he spat out of his mouth :P
Well, Keke spoke better english than finnish!
The tv coverage really was rubbish wasn’t it. Poor Murray and James never stood a chance against such ineptitude.
that commentator sounds like James Hunt
James Hunt sounded always drunken
Isn't that murray walker?
I'm sure he didn't mean "fans" but "fans" - spectators, you see :b
from 10th on the grid?!?! That's ridiculous...
All the overtakes missed...is a sad record!

I'd like if you send me your videos, please reply with your email address and I'll send you an email
why was there a Grand Prix in Detroit? It's one of the worst cities in America (statistically speaking with all due respect)

thank you for the knowledge
Tim Allen did a comedy routine on this. And the race is under way, “where are my tires.??”
real interesting formula 1 years were 1976-1986, after that it become stupid shit!!!
