The Red Queen herself? Terrible dancer.
The ballerina portraying her? Absolutely stunning.
+TKHikaru13 Actually, it's the Queen of Hearts. The Red Queen is from that other Alice book, Through the Looking-Glass. Thanks Disney and Tim Burton for screwing that up.

No problem. One difference between them is that while one is a living playing card, the other is a live chess piece. And while both are bossy, the Queen of Hearts is the one who's into ordering beheadings (although in the book they are never carried out).

Hugh S I think that The Queen we see in this ballet is definitely The Queen of hearts but probably most of people mistake her for The red one because of her costume that is completely red... And, to be precise, it was Burton Who missed to two Queens, In The animated version The Queen is specifically called "of Hearts", there's no reference to The other one( except for some dialogues between Alice and The Queen that uses Words pronounced by The Red in The book Through The looking glass

Funny because I actually was one of those 'hedges" in The Australian Ballets recent season of this ballet! It's a great place to watch the ballet from! Best seats!

There are many comic ballets, The bright stream, The concert, Le grand pas de deux, etc.

Maggie that's what is amazing about this ballerina. She is good enough to act horrible, and even then it's Still wonderful

I'm in love with this ballet. I love the story of Alice in Wonderland, and the choreography is so humorous. Fabulous! Long live the Queen of Hearts.

BRAVO!!!!! Zenaida was perfect for this role, strong personality, brilliant dancer and great sense of humour 3:01 says it all.
This is the only Ballet show that's funny and calm at the same time.
So clever and so funny. I love the "Glasgow Kiss" right at the end. The timing throughout is just wonderful, Zenaida is fabulous and the ensemble "boys" perfect in their roles

my favourite thing about this is that she keeps going and acting like everythings fine when she's stuffing it up so badly, this is true art
If anybody wonders if she's actually a good dancer or what not... Honestly, for a well-trailed ballet dancer, it is harder to dance horrible than dance pretty. That and how she flies when she jumps... She has a total control to be this horrible. Just BRAVO!

Imagine you have been practicing dancing arduously for years and then you get cast as a tree.
Came here after watching the interpretation of Laura and I have to say I love both portrayals, this is a clear example of how each ballerina has their own way to portray a character even though they're dancing the same choreography, so perfect them both!!

Favourite thing about this is that it’s called the Tart Adage. So perfect😂. Also the dancer’s name is Laura Morera. She must have done all the leg days to pull this off.
