That statement- Bullying the S1 🤣 I'll vouch for that my Astra Vxr which runs 250 standard got pretty spanked by an S1 b4 Xmas. I was well impressed as well- Wifey loves them too. Good information here m8 nice 1 💯
Not sure if you have made the step up to is30 yet? I really like the S1’s initial pull with the small turbo & all things being stock, it’s actually quicker out of the factory to 80km/h than a Golf R or S3. I’ve tuned mine to stage 2, & find it hard to understand why anyone would want a faster car. 0-100 kmh (0-62mph) is 4.2 which is enough for me. I might get a better quarter mile time with is38, but I’m not prepared to give up the quick initial acceleration @ lower revs that leaves just about everything for dead from a standstill to 80 kph which is the limit here in Australia unless you’re on a highway.
Decent Intercooler, intake,elbow,exhaust, hi flow cat or decat & a proper clutch! Not forgetting ditching the standard brakes. They are marginal with standard power, let alone an extra 100-150hp over standard… Not cheap to do properly!
bit of an odd question but who are you insured with? wanna stage 1 my s1 but supposedly admiral dont allow anything above a 25% power increase. im 19 too so wont be able to get insured with greenlight yet either which has been recommended cheers mate
Don’t think it’s possible to push 400BHP with the is38 on the s1 engine I’ve spoken to quite a few people and the is38 will only go to about 380 so they usually end up going for the littco l380x
It’s good to know I had 415 bhp with my golf r with the stock is38 I know engines are slightly different and the polo I had on the channel (1.8) had an is380 and that made 380 On real life roads 380 will be plenty enough Thanks for the info👍

What mods are required/suggested before swapping the IS20 for an IS38? And most of all will it be reliable as a daily at that power?😂
