I feel this in my soul. I left nursing school with one semester left. I absolutely couldn’t continue because the profession wasn’t what it used to be and I didn’t even see myself as a nurse anymore. I changed my path and went on to pursue my MBA and so far I’m very happy with my decision. But transferring away from healthcare has been REAL. So still working to find where I fit in but I’m glad I left. Love your channel and content. Gives me motivation to keep pursuing and reminds me I’m not alone in my experiences. 💕

Hey Laurie! Welcome back! I went from UC to an outpatient clinic, then back to UC. My pay went up quite a bit after returning to UC. In many ways, UC is easier than working in primary care or a medical specialty. We have our share of emergencies, but no follow ups, refills, triage, prior auths, etc. etc. I hope you have better staffing at your new location!?!

Welcome back Laurie! You were missed. I love watching your videos on my lunch break. You are so right about primary care..it sounds simple but it's alot of work. I work in geriatrics in primary care and it's alot of chronic care management, non compliant patients, insurance doesn't want to cover meds/imaging/ home care etc. It's very draining, but it's been a good place to learn as a new NP. Keep making great content, I'll watch whatever you post I'm not picky 😂

If you’re saying that and you’re so many years in, then I feel bad for feeling that way and I’m only two years in😂. Right now mi don’t even know weh mi wah do. Bedside never work out fi mi, mi nuh have longevity in no specialty and everybody a look on my resume badly and no wah tek di chance and hire mi no more. It frustrating
You're not alone, I began those same thoughts at my second year. It's now year 6, and nothing has changed, but I'm trying to transition out of healthcare.
