Great great video but I wish you could have explained more in detail what we're looking for as in gaps and what it should look like when you tighten it and when you finish.
Release the brake, turn the brakes to they are touching the wheel, back it off by a half of turn. Test ride, if your not happy with the new adjustment. Either tighten or loosen to your likeing. With the brakes not pressed together. I.e. open
My understanding is you shouldn't have to adjust self adjusting slacks if you do then something is wrong with then and they will continue coming out of adjustment
it looks easy but how many drivers are doing this for real ? the most driver today they think they are truck driver just because they sit on a truck. take them the gps and the automatic transmission and they are lost. Ask a driver today wich direction hes going and he wont know it or ask him to read a atlas. A lot of stupid driver out there
First and foremost reset your brakes by parking setting brakes and holding down your brakes for 5 seconds down to 100psi below. Then one more town firmly pressing on pedal to 50psi, then one more time down to 0psi. This is what truck drivers are supposed to be doing in mountains in the break check area. 90% of the time when I driver looses brakes is because of this it’s simple. One of your break canisters is off. This should have been the first step you do prior to doing this in the video.
This helped me lots I'm slowly coming more mechanically inclined since buying my own truck
Now I know how to adjust the brakes on my steer axle. Thank you so much!
I bought that Lang 7/16” slack wrench about 7 years ago and it’s been heavily used ever since.
Gracias apenas empiezo
Ay veces que no se por donde empezar tus vídeos me an ayudado mucho!!
Que bueno que nuestros videos le ayuden, gracias por mirarlos 🙏
thanks bro! saved me from having to deal with Petro again
Im glad it worked for you, thanks for watching sir 🙏
Would doing 1/4 turn on my trailer help with better stopping power instead 1/2 turn
I do the same. Trailer first than truck 🚚 stopping
It all comes down to who trained you, I was taught 1/4 but I when I worked at the dealer we did 1/2
Might go thru brakes faster
Awesome video...very helpful. Muchas gracias..
Great video! Great content!! New follower!!! Thank you!!
Thanks for watching sir 🙏
Gracias amigo una pregunta algunas videos dicen que se devuelve un cuarto de vuelta otros media vuelta cuál debería ser la medida gracias amigo
Thank you very bro!!! If you were in OKC I would buy you a steak because you help me be able to buy 20 steaks.
Pressure release valve is and does what. What's the purpose for releasing the pressure? Thanks for the videos
When you release the pressure, the brakes release, so that's when you have to fully close the brakes on the slack adjuster, the return half a turn
@@TRUCKINGTIPSDIY i really appreciate your videos thanks for the education
Thanks bro

Good man
The Second slack adjuster with relief pin. I believe you turn 90 deg. Not 180 on them
Mucho gracias
Is this the same for disc brakes.?
Bravo!

Good
👍🏻👍🏻
Not all slacks require a 1/2 turn.
They dont?
What color chalk do I use? to chalk the wheels

Take that 70s truck driver energy else where. Let us young guys be great
@@southernkingtv3674 he has a point though. Wouldn’t hurt to drive stick or know how to read a map.

I just did it. I just got my cdl 1 year ago. I have also helped on repairs on truck
