It's great that India has developed hypersonic glide vehicles but India is still quite behind. Hypersonic glide vehicles moving through space are much easier to build than hypersonic cruise missiles that have to fly through the atmosphere for their entire flight. At the moment, only Russia has hypersonic cruise missiles. China and the DPRK have hypersonic glide vehicles and have been developing hypersonic cruise missiles for a while now. The USA still does not posses hypersonic capabilities.

Every ballistic missile is a hypersonic missile. For example American Minuteman 3 or Trident 3 have terminal velocity of Mach 19 to 20+. Chinese DF5 have Mach 24+ or Indian Agni-V Mark2 has Mach 30. Yet we can't say them as proper hypersonic missile. The proper ones are low observable, highly maneuverable & small like Russian 3-M22 Tsirkon or Indian HSTDV or this newer one or Chinese DF17
