Therapy was useless for me, literally going out for some pints on a sunday with the boys back in the day done me more good than some shrink thats just out of uni that has no life experience.
Psychotherapy can be extraordinarily helpful - just in case anyone scrolling could use some help and feels there isn't any. I'm no professional but I am all ears. If anyone needs someone to talk to, feel free to reach out 🤟
@@lidsmccovered2498 Yeah the boys are a good escape from the typical bullshit but anything deeper is best left to the pros. I hope your nerves start to settle once you get more comfortable talking things out! Good luck and awesome job recognizing something was off and seeking help with it 💪🙏
This is kind of a tired perspective from comedians. How many dudes do we have to hear talk about how mental health is bullshit like they have to say that as part of their brand. Not having friends that happen to be well informed on mental health and neuroscience and how to talk about it and who can be there for you specifically when you need it doesn’t make you a failure. You could have plenty of friends and family and need a professional to talk to. Not everyone has a normal brain, not everyone can just go on Joe Rogan and shoot the shit and then feel alright. Listen to comedians to laugh, not for mental health advice my dudes.
Wanted to add that as mentally tough Shane comes across, please keep in mind how many comedians like this shit on things like therapy and then have a million stories about being straight up alcoholics to levels beyond even the average drinker and how they still will drive on shrooms + weed + alcohol etc. Connect the dots, famous comedians are almost never the guys to get your mental health advice from.
There are some men who actually need legit psychotherapy to overcome chronic personality disorder or mental illness, but in 99% of the male population it's completely unnecessary, and the shrieking of society that therapy will heal all souls is quite literally shamanism for the modern age.
Yo I actually can't believe how well put that assessment on therapy was. Actually pretty blown away right now
I like how very clearly Shane fought with his gf because he skipped going to her parents house and went to bdubs instead
what episode

Why would you think they are giving serious advice and not just joking around?

I see why you genuinely need therapy, you overthink neurotically.
