I found a curio in a case full of 4 unique boxes. Apart from the curio, there was only a single foil unique. So you really can't tell where the bangers are. Of course, without the curio, the case would have been a dumpster fire! :)
Man, I love this game, but am absolutely baffled at some of the choices made for this set. Reduced pack count, worse clumping than the already bad clumping, and "Elite Uniques"? Just amazes me that they thought these were good decisions... I've opened 4 boxes and I'm done, unfortunately. The duplication was just awful. Made the opening experience unfun. Didn't think that was possible with this game...
I've opened 3 cases so far. My best hits: 4 Four Waters, 2 foil Nelly, 1 foil Mesmerism, 1 foil Lady of the Lake. Those 4 foil uniques are the only foil uniques I hit.
Just so you know I had the same experience with the boxes and when I was sorting my bulk somehow I put some uniques in the elite/exceptional pile. So please go back and just check even though you said you don't sort. Keep on contesting sir
@Lord_of_Itza okay I thought I heard you say you don't sort bulk but maybe that was someone else. But yes I just sorted and found a few uniques I somehow missed. Maybe I was going cross eyed 😵 lol
@Lord_of_Itza One last question, how do you store your bulk? Like what kinda box. I am finding myself with way too much bulk. I want something sort of nicer than a cardboard box.
4 unique boxes seems to be the norm with this set. Makes me thinks uniques do have more intrinsic value than in Beta which had 7-8 unique boxes. Loving the set from a gameplay perspective but it has not been a very fun box opening experience. Definitely smart to stay at 2-3 boxes.
good discussion defiantly some odd behavior, also the foil Unquies are in the same boat. in the past 4 days there have been multiple blocks of buys on the same day. Hopefully the second wave will smooth it out.
The market had those uniques priced too low for sure. The cards are still trying to figure out their real market value. 3 bucks for a bour is ridiculously low.
The price of the cards are not going up. Its just that they bought all the cards that are listed at a cheap price. As boxes are opened those cheap prices will be replaced.
Yeah, as long as Sorcery is a niche game we're always going to be vulnerable to buyouts and market manipulation. It sucks that some people see it more as an investment than a game piece.
I´m waiting until after wave 2 drops before I start buying any high end singles I need to fill out my AL binder. There is clear evidence of market manipulation going on. No thanks.
A week or so after release seems reasonable for people to start buying the singles they are missing…as of today, bower has 65 cards sold and King Arthur is just at 54 sold..if people follow your lead and by 2, that means a whopping 27 people could have ‘bought this out’. Do we really think Sorcery cant find 27-54 people willing to buy the card they are missing? SorceryCon alone has over 200 people registered so far! most players…why not assume people just want to get a set before the tournament?
That could be, but the fact that most of these buy outs happened on a single day or two seems to point otherwise. I would be very happy if you are correct though.
ive been actually wondering how the cards can be so cheap from the start?! i mean, its not like with beta that lot of peops already have their cards, from alpha.. so why should it be already as cheap as beta now is?? 🤔
I think a lot of this had to do with novice flippers to the game. They didn’t have an understanding of the rules, so cards like Pendragon’s Legacy, which is a good card, was priced far too low.
@Lord_of_Itza makes sense, agreed 👍 Wonder were other cards might go. From what I'm seeing supply on certain cards for whatever cause is quite low and boxes more scary to open I feel like. Might just happen some cards do spike more
Opened one case: 0 Four Waters, 0 Foil (true) Uniques. Nothing particularly good - best card was probably a foil Wizard's Den. Won't be opening any more.
Brutal box. I've had many like it. ☹ Once the dust settles, non-foil singles should be ultra cheap. Which is good for players. For collectors, the problem is that a majority of the value is in foil uniques and the lottery cards. If you don't get those, you get hosed.
It is quite rough right now to be sure. The elites being almost universally less than a dollar is a real problem, so I am hoping a few can rise to the $3 to $5 to help level out EV. Hopefully a few of the cards that have moved up more naturally, like Vivien, will also help.
Going to get in my first 6 packs sealed game with my Sorcery buddy tonight. Can’t wait!
Sounds awesome!

I'm done opening boxes for the sake of opening. I will get another case to eventually use for sealed.
Same.

That just hurts.
My take is that the uniques are all undervalued. And if we stop opening boxes... then the demand will outpace the supply. Its a vicious cycle.
Just so you know I had the same experience with the boxes and when I was sorting my bulk somehow I put some uniques in the elite/exceptional pile. So please go back and just check even though you said you don't sort. Keep on contesting sir
Oh, I sort and alphabetized it all eventually, so hopefully I find something.

very intense foil clumping

The set really does seem to be great and opens a lot of doors in relation to playability.

I certainly hope so, and I hope new folks don’t get burnt on some of this movement.

That was a rough box 😱 single prices will come down soon someone is definitely manipulating the market buying all uniques at 3-5$

Make Uniques Great Again.

isnt one of those knights considered a unique?
Sadly, every Sir in this box was an “Elite” Unique.

Sadly that seems like the best decision due to collation.

EV is terrible on this set
