  • Bandscan made during a visit to Oslo in early October 2016. Mostly local stations only as this bandscan was made downtown in a hotel, but still interesting to take a look at the FM scene in Norway's capital before many stations will shut down later this year in favor of DAB.

So many NRK's stations in it here and many stations overall!
Much different to what I heard on FM in Olso couple weeks ago.
Thanks for visiting and commenting the video on my channel:)

Thank you! For me as a fan of analog radio it's a pity to see them shutting down FM broadcasting, even more so because quite a lot of stations don't sound that great on DAB (pretty similar to what we have in Germany).

Although in my area at least the NDR pogrammes sound pretty good at 96 kbps DAB+ (especially NDR Info) I agree that the FM shutdown in Norway is a pity no matter of the sound quality. My experience with DAB radios is that they are real 'battery eaters'. Although I'm using rechargeable batteries it's quite annoying to change them after 10-12 hours of listening.
Concerning your video, the display of your radio reminds me of the Dual DAB14, by the way. ;)

DAB radios indeed seem to be quite the battery eaters. I have yet to find a DAB radio that comes even close to the battery life of a Degen or Tecsun. The radio used in this video is a TechniSat DigitRadio 250, which indeed looks very similar (and possibly is more or less identical?) to the Dual DAB14.

Indeed both radios look quite similar and I agree they are possibly almost identical technically. Unlike the TechniSat, the Dual has five preset keys though, but otherwise the scheme of operation and the display look pretty much the same. My DAB14 is based on a FS Verona module, btw.
