  • Actress, Emmy Award-Winning host and New York Times Bestselling Author of “Worthy, Jada Pinkett Smith offers an intimate look into her life and the honest, inspirational, and sometimes painful lessons she’s learned along the way. It was a beautiful conversation, but the moment that stuck out the most is when she said this: “My biggest art form is how I live my life. We are all walking pieces of art”
    She shares:
    - What she believes she’s worthy of now
    - Who she wrote her memoir “Worthy” for
    - Her surprising love language
    - The biggest lesson she’s learned in her lifetime
    - The complexities of being in a relationship that is a model of love for the world: “that Will + Jada love”
    - The insights her relationship with Will has brought her
    - Why she loves high-pressure situations and what they have taught her about friendships
    - Her thoughts on Taraji P. Henson’s recent comments on pay equity for women of color
    - Why she’s the happiest she’s ever been
    - How she navigates public opinions on her life
    - Why it's time to let go of romanticized visions of relationships and people
    - What people often overlook in relationships
    - How she lives her life as art
    - Courting her shadows to find her brightest light: “Sometimes you have to live who you're not to know who you are.”

I don’t care what people say, I love how Jada keeps it real and puts her business out there. She don’t care what y’all think.

39:02 How the interviewer said she read the book and didn’t know Jada was pregnant. It was one of the major happenings and decision in her book. It’s when she felt the most alone. Very strange. Did she really read the book?

I thought the same thing. And when she mentioned the Hoda interview, she said things Hoda never said

Jada and Will's marriage is a textbook on what NOT to do.

@@prasad9002 You and I have different definitions of success in a marriage. Oh! You were probably talking about them being wealthy and famous. I don't use those as a measurement for success. We are in different dominance hierarchies. Their wealth and fame means nothing in any of the movements I am involved in.

No one’s marriage is perfect. Especially in the public eye, that can’t be easy. No need to be judgmental, that’s not a cool way to be. They’re human at the end of the day. They’re allowed to do things their way.

@@sTaCiE3398 We have a couple points of agreement. True no marriage is perfect. I also agree being in the public eye is hard. I actually understand that to a certain degree. I think because they are in the public eye they are responsible for setting a better example. Obviously, people have the freedom to act out their marriage in different ways. I would just argue Jada and Will's marriage is not a success and as someone who officiates weddings I have an interest in the success of marriages. I can offer advice but at the end of the day the results of the marriage is on the couple. Also on a side not I have been married almost 2 decades so might have first hand experience of what works and what doesn't.

Woww Danielle when you say “can I keep it real” probably 3/4 in you and Jada went to a different place I’ve never seen her go, i love that she’s like love is not a fucking fairytale and everything else after that. It’s like something was awakened in his interview, great job ❤

The question “the weirdest thing you ever did in your car?” In the book she drove around looking for a cliff to drive off when she was depressed. Not a question I would have asked if I read the book.
