here's a chilled, long, atmospheric dnb track titled "skydancer". track was made in renoise, and the project file can be downloaded below. you may find the renoise file slightly different, most notably a faster tempo. i bounced the stems out and mixed the track down on a mackie 1404 mixer from 1998 using ableton. the project file uses diva, zebra2, lush2, and some free plugins from airwindows and the like.

I think it is cool that you often list your sample sources, it is fun to try and pick things out.
Ahh Babylon 5, memories.
yes! i JUST started watching it for the first time and love it.
Have you heard what ASC is doing with his Spatial label? This is right up his street. Send it to him! Amazing music
The samples are great additions for the ambiance. Great work as always

Thankyou Master Creator!
Fantastic! 🤩🙌
Really well done! Always a fan.
I swear I'm not even kidding, I just started playing Descent: Freespace for the first time this week on the steam deck after hearing how great Freespace 1 and 2 were, so I extra vibed to this.
no way!!! i've actually been playing it on my steam deck too! i recently finished playing through almost all of the Resident Evil games on it and needed to move to some space action sci-fi :) i had actually never played any of the freespace or descent games prior to getting it
@@arcologies ok good. It's settled then. We are officially the same person and we should merge dragon ball style into a more powerful version of ourselves. 🌝💪.
Just like Gotenks. Georgecologies... ArcoL909...

Oh, can you please make a tutorial on how you made these breaks? This is so awesome, this chill beat is perfect. I am just curious which parts of breaks you sampled, what you reinforced the kick with and such. I know about the basic DnB syncopated pattern, I am more curious about how you got the drums to sound like this.
hi there! so, for this break... it was just a hip hop break sampled into my yamaha a4000, i applied some eq/filter in the yamaha, and then bounced it back out into renoise and resampled it. the main way i process deeper breaks is just some broad EQ. Cutting the mids a little bit and then boosting the lows. the yamaha makes it sound nice and lush. however, the most important thing is just starting with a break that'll work well in these deep tracks, and you really can't go wrong with some 90s hip hop/rnb breaks :) those producers were using all that warm analog gear and were masters with those phat deep drums. Those breaks were so good back then that you typically do not need to layer them.
@@arcologies Oh...! I see now. I mean, I was more curious how you got the drum pattern, because there all these ghost sounds or something that makes it sound really good. But you told me it's a hip hop break and I slowed the video down to x0.5 and I can totally hear it now. I completely forgot this was another technique for DnB back then. this was the spacey sound I first heard in Logical Progression. Awesome. I still have a lot to learn though... Thanks for the tip.
first! ;)
