I have the same blaster got it when i was in college my first CD player ever !!! COOL! man what a great job you did wish someone around here could do that with mine..my cd works still but not the tape deck and the batteries leaked but you can still plug it in and play the radio and cd..but great job thanks for sharing great memories of the same model i had since it came out...WOW!

How can I wash electronics with water? After all, it affects the electronic circuits badly. Secondly, why are there no measurements of the condition of capacitors and other electronic components?
There is nothing wrong in washing a electronic item in water. It should be dried completely before powering.
The cassette player mechanism looks very decent quality. Thankfully now restored!
The cassette deck in this boombox is of better quality than sooner 90's boomboxes like RX-CT990.

Да, мурашки по телу от такого, особенно если вода на кпе, двигатель и подстроечники. Можно было бы сжатым воздухом продуть, например. Я предпочитаю кисть с натуральным ворсом, и воздух под давлением.

Maybe the cd works again if you give the optical lens a little gain on the trimpot, usually it doesn't work because the laser is weak, and adjusting the laser gain brings it back, i did this to a aiwa boombox that the cd doesn't even spin anymore and now it works perfectly

Anything Panasonic is always worth restoring. There's usually nothing wrong with whatever it is in the first place accept for age related things.

I found 3d printed gears for mine. Mine got all cracked and broken like the one in this video. I had a tech restore it for me this is one of my more loyal boomboxes. Ive had it for ever I also have a mini panasonic boombox with a touch button tape player and dolby these are nice units.

Nice work ... Try to change the CD laser lens unit or adjusting the laser gain to make it works again and so the cassette roller capstan for better ...

Very nice restoration. But I would have concerns on pressure washing tuner board with dialing capacitor and IF transformers and the power board with transformer. Would it dry out again without risk of a damage?
What was the blue liquid to loose the glue on the springs?
Yes, the air capacitor and IF transformer will very affected by the water.

Only issue with my Philips no stereo sound on the tape deck ....the amp works fine on CD and radio.....problem with the tape heads...

Date code on cassette motor is January 1988.
where do you get replacement gear for tape deck? Mines some cogs are broken so forward direction doesn't work, only fast forward, reverse works normally

Cái đó là cái cuối cùng rồi. Mấy dàn cơ cassette kiểu này cái nào cũng bị hư bánh răng đó.

а если крышку распечатать на 3д принтере? правда стоить будет наверное 4-5 тыщ. шестеренки печатают, крышки батарейного отсека тоже.

My mom radio can't turn on (repeat on off by itself) when using AC cable, when i try something burn (red light like iron burning) then it can't be turn on again
I don't try it yet using battery, but inside the radio so many ant now 😂 i like to try later, if it normal using battery is it safe mod it using battery 18650 + dc step up + charger module?
