This was fun, thankyou. As to the Haunted Mansion, I will always remember as a kid in the mid 60's when they put it on hold for the World's Fair, the white Mansion building was just sitting there with the wrought iron fence around it. When we would go to the park, walking around New Orleans Square, and to Tom Sawyer Island, and to the Indian Camp, Mother would tell us that it was a Haunted House, and that was why it was just sitting there with nothing happening at the building. While they were waiting to open it. As to Pirates vs Haunted Mansion, I use to enjoy Pirates of the Caribbean more than HM, but then they started to go and try to make it politically correct, which spoiled the playful fun of the ride, (like how they spoiled the fun of Roger Rabbit). and then they started shoving "Jack Sparrow" into the attraction, which after a while seemed to cheapen the event of the attraction. So now it's hard to say which I enjoy more. I do remember as a kid, dreaming of living in the old swamp shack playing the banjo. So now what makes the attraction, or either of the two fun if I get to ride it with someone, especially if they have never experienced either of them. Oh, and forgive me, but I feel that the Holiday overlay, (nightmare before Christmas) is too long. Why couldn't they do the Muppets holiday or normal in one of the empty buildings in DCA? Oh, and "Hat Box Ghost". I don't want to win anything (other than getting to share with you my idea for a series of videos for Miles). I just wanted you to know I am watching. Chris you should totally do a canoe secret revealed. There's a lot of history in the river itself. There's history in the dry dock. There's also funny cast member stories that operate the canoes. Could do the history of how the rivers of America has changed over the years even with the shape of Galaxy's edge being put in.

Haunted Mansion is my pick between the 2 epic attractions! Love them both though. THE HATBOX GHOST was a great addition and just has that quintessential Disneyland vibe!! I always felt like we escape out the attic window and that's why the hitchhiking ghosts follow us home!

Whoever they appoint after Iger leaves please let it be someone who will incorporate what Walt Disney would have wanted. I wonder if he would have approved of the acquisitions of all these movie franchises - somehow this does not speak 'Disney" to me. Chris and Amanda, thank you for sharing all of the fun facts and history of Disneyland and your adventures. The Haunted Mansion is my ultimate favorite part of Disneyland , especially when they decorate it for Christmas 😍 The Hatbox Ghost is one of my favorites as well 😊
The Haunted Mansion has one of the most convoluted histories of any ride ever with how they kept switching directions for everything yet it's still considered the best because they put their very best into everything without compromise (other than the ghosts being illusions) The ride went from one walkthrough to two identical walkthroughs. Then had a couple versions including the Museum of the Weird with one of them being a restaurant. Then when it became a ride they couldn't decide wether it should be one giant moving platform or a boat ride. Even after they made the Doombuggies they had plans for a separate attraction in the space the extended queue is now! Don't even get me started on the specific characters like the hatbox ghost !!!😉

The Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite Ride!!! I was 7 when it opened and was lucky enough to ride the first week it opened. Can’t say if I remember the “ Hatbox Ghost “ or not. But what I do remember is that the jumping ghosts in the grave yard were terrifying. 😮 Thank you for all of your work and dedication to the secrets of Disneyland.

I have never heard of the theory that you are falling and become the 1000 ghost just after you pass the Hatbox Ghost. The HatBox Ghost is one of those original ideas that was not originally successful, but was eventually properly realized at Disneyland in 2015. I love the original Haunted Mansion and the NBC holiday overlay is also great, but my favorite will always be Pirates of the Caribbean. The scale, immersion, story, effects, ambiance, fun, music, Blue Bayou, animation, and water all combined under Walt Disney's personal guidance, make a unique and wonderful experience that has long stood as the ultimate dark ride.

The Haunted Mansion has one of the most convoluted histories of any ride ever with how they kept switching directions for everything yet it's still considered the best because they put their very best into everything without compromise (other than the ghosts being illusions)
The ride went from one walkthrough to two identical walkthroughs. Then had a couple versions including the Museum of the Weird with one of them being a restaurant. Then when it became a ride they couldn't decide wether it should be one giant moving platform or a boat ride. Even after they made the Doombuggies they had plans for a separate attraction in the space the extended queue is now!
Don't even get me started on the specific characters like the hatbox ghost !!!😉

The Haunted Mansion is my absolute favorite Ride!!! I was 7 when it opened and was lucky enough to ride the first week it opened.
Can’t say if I remember the “ Hatbox Ghost “ or not. But what I do remember is that the jumping ghosts in the grave yard were terrifying. 😮

What a cool video. Definitely liked when you compared all the different Haunted Mansions” from all the Disney parks. I have never heard of the theory that you are falling and become the 1000 ghost just after you pass the Hatbox Ghost. It’s certainly an interesting take on why the doom buggy turns around as you descend into the graveyard.

The HatBox Ghost is one of those original ideas that was not originally successful, but was eventually properly realized at Disneyland in 2015. I love the original Haunted Mansion and the NBC holiday overlay is also great, but my favorite will always be Pirates of the Caribbean. The scale, immersion, story, effects, ambiance, fun, music, Blue Bayou, animation, and water all combined under Walt Disney's personal guidance, make a unique and wonderful experience that has long stood as the ultimate dark ride.
I love the idea that we are being pushed by the HatBox Ghost. SO FUN!!
