They would of been a popular show even if twilight didn't exist. Twilight is those leftovers in the fridge you don't bother with but vampire diaries is that fresh new cake from the oven that makes your mouth melt!

Twilight concept is too close to the X-Men for me and Bella was more annoying. Vamp Di has a more traditional foundation and the characters are very rich, layered and reactive.
Twilight books are better than the movies, whereas the show of Vampire Diaries tends to be better than the books but only due to the differences... if you read the Vamp Di books first, you'd feel differently, if you fell in love with show first, don't read the books, bc you'd feel disappointed. But whether you read Twilight books first or saw movie first, the books are better regardless

I disagree. Ian dominates the conversation during interviews and I prefer hearing from other cast members.
