I have just began my career in IT in the past week. I have no degree and have only thus far worked in retail. I am over 33 years old. I have no background in programming or any of what seemed to be basic terminology and concepts amongst developers. I enjoyed this video as you are extremely well informed and convey methodologies in a clear and concise way. I hope one day I can become as talented as you and your team. Wish me luck, I want to prove to myself I can learn and conquer my fear.
This is one of the most useful courses I've ever had, its very precious, nice summary, very practical examples, exactly what I was looking for. I can't thank you enough. Good luck, Thank you, Keep going
Hey Hank, are your comments about XML and or Netconf still valid 2 years later (being 2020 now)? Just wanted to make sure I was not wasting time going down yet another abandoned path of obscurity!
Hank/Cisco, I've only been using ncclient and have written some pretty robust scripts that leverage standard and native YANG models. I like ncclient because all of my platforms support NETCONF and I don't want an open source community tool abstracting information. A library that abstracts information creates an additional dependency. I am new to network automation but somewhat proficient in Python. Do you recommend ncclient over NAPALM or when/why would someone in my position leverage libraries other than ncclient? Also, do you only use ncclient to explain the operation of NETCONF or do you actually recommend someone like me continue to program this way?
How do I build a webportal with all this data? I want to build an internal tool that will query/grab logs etc. from a device and show it on the GUI that can be shared among teammates.
hey guys, i nees some help: i want to download the config via ncclient, parse it to a dict, change an Interface description, unparse it und send it back via ncclient. but i get an error, that the unparsed xml does not meet the requirements. does anybody already done sth. like that?
anybody else having issues to run sample codes? I get timeouts when running them like below. Connection to device timed-out: cisco_ios ios-xe-mgmt.cisco.com:8181

Definitely worth the time to watch and listen. Perfect for the engineer just getting into the coding of things.
Dang! This is SO useful, practical, to the point. Best explanation ever. Tools section is gold. Thank you so much for sharing!

really great job, please keep doing these helpful videos.
Nicely done !! Keep it coming
Very interesting❗️👍🏻
Awesome! Big thanks, great content. Kudos!
It's really useful. Can I download the shown config templates or anyone can share me?
This was awesome! Is there like a part 2 where he goes through pretty much the same stuff, but makes some small useful scripts?
The main ones I'd like to see are:
-JSON
-CSV
-RESTCONF
-NETMIKO
-PySNMP
Nice work Hank!
Amazing video, a lot of useful information, thank you very much
Thank you very much for the video, very useful
kudos for the timestamps 👍
Your welcome. Definitely helps with finding the info that you're looking for!
Thanks a lot, very useful
Much appreciated
great job

i sense devnet will be hard asf
the audio quality is too poor
Great episode. It would be great to have it as document not video. It takes too long to watch, reading is much faster.
